    Texans Ground Redskins

This game got out of hand way to early. Steve Slaton broke a 49 yards run on the second play of the game to give the Texans an early 7-0 lead. Soon after, the Redskins would fumble the ball and the Texans would hit a wide open Owen Daniels from 10 yards out to make it 14-0 halfway thru the first quarter. On the ensuing kick-off, the Skins would fumble the ball and let the Texans recover in the redzone. They would use rookie D. Middlebrook to punch it in from 5 yards out. Then the texans would score again after another turnover from 1 yard out to make the score at the end of the 1st quarter 28-0.

The Texans put the game on cruise control after that, they would score once more to open the second quarter but then the subs came in and would spend the second half of the game running out the clock. The texans had several more opportunities to punch it in, but decided not to and would punt the ball away inside the 30 and also let the clock expire before the half from the 3 yard line.

The SHOCKER from this game was that the Redskins only gaiened 103 TOTAL yards in the entire ball game. And bigger than that was that they NEVER passed the ball. NOT ONCE! Texans coach obwhite said after the game "I've never seen a team just not want to throw, it seemed like we were selling out for the run, if they would have gone over the top once or twice it probably coulda been a ballgame!"

That's exactly what the Texans would do all game, they stayed in there base 4-3 package, except on 3rd and long, and the Redskins decided to live and die by the running game. The Texans only gave up 5 first downs in the ball game and didn't give up the first one until the 3rd quarter.
