    Week 10

First, thanks Tank for subbing as the Eagles' GM. For the secound time my young defense played outstanding "D" causing McNabb to go out for 2 quarters and putting a ton of heat on offense forcing 4 ints. Matt Stafford played well throwing 2td's and one pick which was a one-handed int by Brown. Calvin Johnson had a soild game with over 105yds and 1 TD.

    Lions 30
    Eagles 14

Now..come the test as we face a good Dallas team.

GG Tank gl with your Vikings bud...thanks for the sub(y)

    Wk 10 Jags at Browns

This may become a rivalry here in MEGA as these two owners spend wayyy too much time gaming. Back to the game stats.

The Jags came to town to face the Brownies in hopes of establishing themselves as the favorites in the AFC South division. After neither team could do anything on their first possession, the Jags struck first. On the Jags second possession newly acquired WR Alleyne had a nice punt return to set Jags up around the 50yd line. The Jags tried running the ball but the Browns D-Line has freak of nature run stoppers which punished the Jags HB's all game. Rookie QB James was forced to lead his team through the air. After connecting on a couple of short passes, James would find TE Lewis on a PA pass that Lewis would take 16 yds for the score. 7-0 Jags after 1 qtr.

The second quarter saw the Jags playing tough defense as they stopped a Browns drive and forced an int by starter D. Culpepper. After getting the ball QB James missed his read and threw his only pick of the game to MLB Urlacher to set the Browns up inside the Jags 30 yd line. HB Pierre Thomas, who was a beast on the day, would put the Browns on his back and lead them to a score from 1 yds out to make it 7-7.

The Jags would come right back after a decent return by WR Thomas and get the ball around the 30 yd line. QB James would drop back and connect with rookie WR Gallon on a crossing route, watch him break two tackles and then take it 67 yds for the TD giving the Jags a 14-7 lead. The Browns would again throw an int, throwing 6 picks on the day, giving the Jags great field position. The Jags wasted litte time as MJD would get the TD from 1 yd out giving the Jags a 21-7 lead before being knocked out of the game by the Browns tough run defense. The Browns would add a FG with about 20 secs left in the half to make the score 21-10 at halftime.

The Browns would get the kickoff after halftime and wasted little time getting back into the game. HB Pierre "Superman" Thomas would take a handoff inside, break through six tackles and rumble 76 yds looking like he had a sure TD only to be ran down and tackled at the 2 yd line. HB Lewis would finish the drive with a 2 yd TD and the Bowns converted the 2pt play to make it 21-18 Jags. The Jags behind QB James who was 13 of 16 on the day for 254 yds 2 TDs 1 Int, would answer back by moving the Jags inside the Browns 5 yd line. The Jags were stopped short of the endzone and faced a 4th and inches from the 3 yd line. Coach Lou decided to take the points instead of going and the Jags increased their lead to 24-18 to end the 3rd qtr.

The Jags were in control pretty much the entire 4th qtr not letting the Browns get close, mostly because of turnovers and kicking a FG to make it a 9 point lead and put the game out of reach. Final score was Jags 27, Browns 18. GG Trashy and GL the rest of the way.

    Players of the Game:

Jags offense: QB Kelley James, 13 of 16 for 254 yds 2 TDs 1 Int
Jags defense: CB Rashean Mathis, 2 Ints and 4 tackles

Browns offense: HB Pierre Thomas, 15 carries for 149 yds 1 TD
Browns defense: MLB Brian Urlacher, 1 Int and 4 tackles

One key note,Thomas broke another run for 80 yrds on a counter but it was called back for holding and that really hurt the Browns.

After starting super fast the Browns have become turn over prone and will def look to find a qb this offseason.

The Cowboys visited the Panthers and the game can pretty much be summed up by the final 3 minutes of the 2nd half.

Romo throws an interception which leads to a Carolina FG. Dallas then goes 3-and-out. After the punt, HB DeAngelo Williams breaks several tackles enroute to a 77yd touchdown run. Then Romo throws another interception. This time, Williams fumbles, and the Cowboys recover - which is overturned by a booth review. A few plays later, Vince Young throws the TD. Then Romo throws another interception, this time a pick-6 to MLB Jon Beason. The half ends with a 106yd kickoff return by Dallas KR Barnes. In total, the home team scores 31pts in the 2nd quarter and never looks back.

There were a few times that GT got screwed by the ref, particularly on a 4th and 11 play where it looked like the receiver was across the LOS...even after the challenge it was Panthers ball.

    Final Score
    Cowboys 24
    Panthers 38

    gg GT.

    KC vs Denver

Crave Case for Cassel Against Chiefs

Denver: Matt Cassel returned to the starting line up Sunday in time to face his old team, the Kansas City Chiefs, in a tale of two teams going in opposite directions.

Brodie Croyle didn't read the script however as he opened the game connecting with rookie WR Clayton Roberson for an 83 yard launch and catch. The shocked sold out Colorado fan base turned to Matt Cassel to even the score and save the Bronco's from being headline fodder to the 1 and something Chiefs.

Denver took their opening possession and behind the quick hitting passing offense directed by Cassel, evened the tally as he found rookie WR Brandon Trammell from 17 yards out to close the first, tied at 7's.

From the second quarter froward the Chiefs and Croyle had little success passing the ball as Robert Ayers and Alphonso Smith intercepted the struggling passer. Smith had a pair of picks on deep ball tries while Ayers made a key pick over the middle to stop a third down try and allow Denver's Mike Prather to hit a 32 yard field goal.

Denver controlled the game, adding a touchdown to Eddie Royal and added another score behind Cassel's 2 yard scamper and the Bronco's held a 24-7 lead with less than 5 minutes to play.

Kansas City added a field goal and a late hurry up score to bring the final to 24-17 for the home side and the best record in the AFC at 8 and 1.

"When you open up getting torched like that", said coach Ross after the win. "Heck, you never know if you can get back the momentum. Our guys looked to Matt and Dawkins to get things under control and we were able to pull away".

    Bills @ Texans

In the first half the Texans took control of the game very fast with a very effective run game, but falling short on 3rd downs, and scoring 3 FG.
Texans was up in the score 9-0 in the last minutes of the 2nd qtr. The bills try to score a long FG but the kick fell short and get caught by Andre Davis trying to get a big play returning that short FG attempt ,but he fumble the ball and Fine recover fumble and
score 6 points for the Bills.
Bills score a FG in the en of the 1st half. Bills 10 Texans 9.

In the second half the Bills play better offense and score 21 points, Texans score 14.
Final score Bills 31 Texans 23.

Good game Hendrikx. Nice running game, that fumble at the end of the second qtr changed the momentum.

GL the rest of the way.

    Jets 17, Steelers 14

The Jets traveled to Heinz Field looking for their 3rd straight win as they hooked up with Hoyt and the Steelers.

NY jumped out to an early 14-0 lead courtesy of a Darrelle Revis 33 yard INT return for a TD, then a Jamarion Bellows 56 yard TD reception from Mark Sanchez. It looked like the Jets would roll, but the Steelers had other ideas.

Trailing 14-0 late in the 1st half, Ben Roethlisberger hooked up with Willie Parker on a screen pass that went for 60 yards and set up a 1st and goal for Pitt. Parker would punch it in on the next play cutting the Jets' lead in half. The score would remain 14-7 at the half.

Midway through the 3rd quarter with the Jets still leading 14-7, Ben Roethlisberger found Santonio Holmes for a 77 yard TD; tying the game at 14-14. From there, both defenses tightened and the offenses tried not to make a mistake. But it would be Big Ben that made the critical mistake; throwing an INT to Ahmad Carroll late in the 4th quarter; deep in his own territory. Several plays later, Jay Feely connected on a 26 yard FG as time expired to give NY the 17-14 win.

    Great game Hoyt.

    Titans @ Ravens

I'd like to start by saying great game to Mags. We have now met twice and had two very tough games go down to the wire.

These two teams met in the Mega Divisional round last year in a defensive struggle. This year there were more point put on the board, but it was still a defensive struggle.

Tennessee came out firing on all cylinders. With the return of CJ2K the offense seemed to be unstoppable. A run here, a pass there, and a play action to TE Jared Cook and the Titans led 7-0. The score stayed that way until the second quarter when Ray Rice broke out 37 yards for a TD! 7-7. With about 3 minutes in the half Tennessee again took the lead 10-7 on a 51 yard Bironas FG. A stop on defense had Tennesee with the ball and driving late in the half until Chris Johnson got nailed and fumbled. Baltimore started off with the ball inside their own 10. Jacob Ford pressured Flacco into a bad pass that Keith Bulluck intercepted and took back for a TD and at the half Tennessee led 17-7.

The third quarter had both teams go scoreless. Not until the 4 minute mark of the final quarter would either team score until Lendale White(the guy nobody wanted to trade for) erupted and shook off multiple tackles on his way to a 10 yard TD run. Baltimore showing their never say die attitude scored a TD inside 2 minutes to cut it to a 10 point game. In fact they scored again with just under a minute left to make it 27-21, but a failed onside attempt left Tennessee victorious in this one.

*Mr. Monday Night Keith Bulluck continues to have a monster year and finished with 6 tackles along with the pick six.

**CJ2K returned to action after a 4 week layoff and ran for 104 yards on 19 carries.

***Tennesee moves to 4-5 on the year and is still in the hunt for a repeat AFC South division crown.

    Rams still undefeated.

The st. louis rams took to the road this week in the first of six straight road games agaist the chargers. The chargers are down this season winning only two games so far but came into this game with high hopes.
The rams defense was strong again this week holding the bolts to only 10 points by doubling Gates and keeping 8 in the box most of the game to slow down LT. After a couple of turnovers and 3 and outs by the Chargers, the Rams found themselves up 17 points late in the second and turned to Steven Jackson to take over the game and secure the win.

    Key Notes:

    M. Bulger- 8-13 109yards 2TD 0INT (Leads qbs in TDs with 20)
    S. Jackson- 27rush 161 yards 1TD (Leader in rushing TDs/Yardage/Total TDs with 1237yards 12 rushing TDS 19 overall TDs)

    P. Rivers- 23-41 302yards 0TD 2INT
    LT- 11rush 23 yards 1TD, 6 rec 66yards
