Full workup tonight, but Idaho was able to withstand a furious ULM rally to hold on for a 7 point victory. Really fun game that was nip/tuck for the first 3 quarters. Don't remember the final but like I said I'll post the write-up when I get home.

Utah State Holds Off EMU 24-17

Utah State built up a 24-3 lead going into the 4th quarter, but the EMU Eagles put on a furious comeback attempt. EMU capped a drive with a 1 yard TD run to cut the lead to 24-10 with 7 minutes to go. The Eagles stopped Utah State multiple time but could not convert the touchdown. With 1:44 remaining, the Eagles finally got the score they were looking for on a 12 yard TD pass from Mayes to Caldwell. Having only 1 timeout down 24-17, the Eagles had to go for the onside kick. The kick went a perfect 10 yards where both teams scrambled to gain possesion untill the ball kicked back to the EMU side of the field where the Eagles gained possesion and new life. EMU was driving with the momentum and a chance to tie the game. With 1 minute to go at midfield a strong Utah State blitz got to Caldwell and he could not put full strength into his pass, as Aggie CB Ward leanded down to make the catch for the interception to secure the game. Player of the game goes to Utah State QB Gerald Butler for going 9-15 for 186 yards and 2 TDs. Utah State improves to 7-3 and hosts Arkansas State next week to close out conference play. EMU falls to 6-4. BTW I'll get to the ULL recap sometime soon.

    UAB Upends Ark St. 58-27

UAB pulls off a huge win over Arky St for the first time under head coach jkyle5. The match started out rough from the start for coach Blond's Red Wolves. Arky couldn't handle a seemingly even matchup in UAB's D line. Sack after sack and an apparently unstoppable UAB offense proved too much for coach Blond's squad. Nearing the 5 min mark of the 4'th quarter, Coach Blond was seen throwing down his headset and heading for the locker room leaving his team to finish out the game without him. The undoubtadly got a severe talking to by the old ball coach when they joined him after the game. The win moves UAB to 7-3 on the season and brings Arkansas State to a suprising 2-8 on the season considering their success of last season.

Next week the Blazers head to Tennessee to take on Coach Redd and the Mid Tennessee State Blue Raiders.

Idaho and UAB will be playing for the WEST crown in two weeks, provided UAB isn't overwhelmed by the FleXbox One.
