    UNLV End Another Comeback Effort

Wyoming was one team UNLV didn't like to play. "Coach Cougar has a great crew and they are quite scrappy for a very weak area to recruit. Cougar knows his shit." Says Coach Beardown. The game was amazing through 3. UNLV only gave up one score and held the Cowboys offense in check while the offense was dominating in the trenches. "We knew we could run all day. They may be scrappy, but we're talented." Says Brent Williams. "We had a lot of things to show Coach Cougar about these Rebels. You may of beat us two years running, but we won't lose three straight." UNLV gets BYU next week

CB Jones intercepts BYU on their first play of the game, BYU Quarterbacks combined for 6 interceptions

The last time Colorado State travel to Provo, Utah to face the Cougars they embarrassed them on their home turf in a 37-8 blowout. BYU would look to defend their home turf this time around and extract revenge from rival Colorado State.

BYU QB Charles Andrews threw an errant pass right to Rams CB Mike Jones on the first play of the game. The momentum was on the side of CSU and they took advantage, capping off a wonderfully orchestrated drive with a screen pass to HB Darius Horne for six. The Cougars would settle down during the next drive and put together a lengthy series together only to settle for a field goal. Rams led 7-3 at the end of the first.

The wheels would completely fall off for the Cougars in the 2nd quarter. A pair of interceptions setup CSU for easy scores. CSU added a field goal to begin the quarter. As the quarter neared expiration BYU was picked inside the redzone. QB Austin Pittman hit prolific WR Kyle Robinson over the top for a 62 yard score with :32 left in the half. QB Charles Andrew would throw another pick, handing CSU more points with a field goal as half expired. 20-3 CSU at the half.

The Rams implemented a more conservative gameplan for the second half, and no points were scored in the 3rd due to a vanilla offense by the Rams and turnovers by the Cougars. CSU would add a rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter on a 2 yard rush by frosh RB Adam Robertson. BYU wouldn't call it quits and gave up another interception.

With an opportunity to let the game run out with under 45 seconds left the Coach Fuzzy and his squad made a curious move and used their timeouts down 3-27 already having thrown 6 interceptions. It forced a CSU punt but the returner suffered a big hit on a punt that should've been called for a fair catch. BYU fumbled and gunner Joe Taylor scooped and scored to further the CSU lead 34-3.

The win keeps the Rams in prime position to win the conference for the first time in the program's entire history. An Air Force loss or a Colorado State Victory would seal the deal. Stay tuned.

In a game more ugly then the final score showed, the Utah Utes were able to defeat the TCU Horned Frogs by a score of 20-14. The Utes accumalated a 10-0 lead, one that they would not relinquish, and most of the game seemed as if it was more about getting to the finish line then "pretty" football. Even when the Hirned Frogs were within a TD of the Utes, it still seemed as if they didn't pose a legitimite challenge to put the ball in the endzone.
