Vikings Come From Behind, Get Big Divisional Win in Chicago

Chicago, IL - Week 11 was a must-win game for both NFC North rivals Minnesota & Chicago. The Vikings were coming off an embarrassing loss to the (then) 1-7 Redskins, while the Bears were riding high a week after downing the division-leading Packers.

The Bears started off the game hot, marching down the field with ease and scoring on their first drive - a Matt Forte rushing TD. QB Teddy Bridgewater would throw a pick on the Vikings first drive (a nice user pick by MLB D.J. Williams on 3rd down). The Bears would capitalize early in the 2nd quarter, this time a Cutler to Jeffery hookup for 6. The Vikings would finally get on the board late in the 1st half, but had to settle for 3. Halftime score: Vikings 3, Bears 14.

The Bears had moved the ball at will in the first half, so the Vikings decided to play ball control in the 2nd half and lean on the running game of Adrian Peterson. They would eat up close to 7 minutes on their opening 2nd half drive - capped by a TD pass to Greg Jennings. A 2 pt conversion attempt failed, leaving a score of 14-9 at the end of 3 quarters.

The Bears looked cold on offense the entire second half due to long Minny offensive drives, resulting in just 1 third down conversion all day. The Vikings would score twice in the 4th quarter - a TD run by AP, and another TD catch by Greg Jennings (his first two of the season). Final Score: Vikings 24, Bears 14.

    Story of the Tape:
    1) Vikings 5 for 8 on third downs, Bears 1 for 5
    2) Time of Possession: Vikings - 22:22, Bears - 13:38
