The Niners deferred, and CB Dunta Robinson promptly picked off Big Ben on the Steelers' first set of downs. This was a reoccurring theme, as Ben threw 5 picks on the day. Pitt never got their offense going in the first half, leading to four straight scores by Frisco. After the initial FG, two long drives ended in RB Frank Gore TD runs, and the half came to an end with two straight FGs by K Joe Nedney. 23-0 at the half.

The 2nd half consisted of three more FGs by Nedney as Frisco tried to control the clock on the ground. The Steelers had a big play on a RB Leon Washington screen which got them into the near the goal line, where they were able to punch it in. That was all Pitt ever saw of the redzone, as the Niners' defense was solid once again. Final score 32-7 Niners, GG.
