1. Wisconsin I called this one preseason. Many thought the Badgers would be down this season, but that have shown that given the right breaks they are still a Big 10 power. The defense has given up a ton of points, but that hasn’t mattered as the offense has been prolific, putting up over 60 twice. 2. South Carolina The Gamecocks, like #1 Wisconsin, are unbeaten. Their games have been close low scoring affairs for the most part. Jadeveon Clowney has produced this season just like the preseason experts had predicted. He leads the stout Gamecock defense with 14 TFL and 11 Sacks. 3. Florida Florida started the season with dreams of a National Championship. Those dreams came crashing down in their week 4 loss to Tennessee. However, the Gators showed they may very well be champions with the way they reacted to the loss. Instead of imploding, the Gators came together and stunned the world in week 8 when they knocked off the defending SEC Champion Crimson Tide. 4. Alabama Aside from their one stumbled against Florida, Alabama has walked through the season, destroying most of their opponents. They did get a scare from Arkansas, but they held on against the overmatched Hogs for the win. The college football world looks forward to a SEC Championship game rematch between the Tide and the Gators. 5. USC If it weren’t for those pesky Utah Utes, these Trojans would be the favorite to take home the crystal football this season. However, the Trojans were able to salvage their season with a huge win over rival Oregon. 6. Oregon The Ducks opened the season looking to repeat their stunning run to the championship of last year. Everything looked to be going their way as they bulldozed through their opponents in weeks 1-9. However week 10 brought the highly talented and highly motivated USC Trojans. Despite a furious 4th quarter comeback, the Ducks fell short and their repeat dreams have taken a serious detour. 7. Northwestern The Wildcats have been the surprise of college football. Aside from their week 9 loss to Wisconsin, they have been perfect. They bounced back nicely in the win against Iowa, but the true test comes in week 12 when they travel to Michigan to play the Wolverines. 8. Michigan Aside from their week 5 loss at Notre Dame, these Wolverines have cruised through the season. They look to have found their stride on offense and have two big games left, week 12 versus Northwestern and Week 14 versus Ohio State. 9. Stanford Stanford is one of only three schools to have 3 user games already played, unfortunantly for them they dropped two of them in back to back games versus Oregon and USC. Those losses are nothing to sneeze at, and aside from those two games Stanford has been very impressive, including wins agains Cal, Utah, and Notre Dame. 10. Arkansas The Hogs talent level took a hit in the off season and it showed. After a hard fought loss to Alabama the Hogs just haven’t been the same, culminating in a loss to lowly Ole Miss. Injuries and suspentions have hit the Hogs hard, with starting QB Allen and TE Houston having to sit out 4 games. While #1 WR Wade was injured for those same 4 games. Coupled with the loss of RB Kody Walker for 2 week. 11. Ohio State Heading into week their week 10 game versus Penn State, the Buckeyes looked to be a very solid team. Their only loss game against a highly talented Virginia Tech team. However, the Buckeye defense forgot to show up as Penn State put up 66 points in route to the big win. Time will tell how and if the Buckeyes are able to bounce back. 12. California California is another school with thee user games, all three of which were losses. The worst part is that all three could have been wins. The three losses came by a combined 12 points. So while the Golden Bears may not be ranked, they are dangerous.
