    Miss - 23

Not much to say about this one, two pick six's in the first quarter lead the Tigers to a blowout victory. Most of Ole Miss' yards came on two long passes deflected into their WR's hands .

    M. Blakely - 17 att, 97 yds, 2 TD
    K. Frazier - 9 att, 74 yds, TD

TCU Loses Shocker to BYU; 34-30

The Mormon defense scores 16 of BYU's 34 points, thanks to some of the most absolutely, absurdly ridiculous play from starting QB Jack King. King goes 3 for 16, 31 yards, and 3 INTs before being pulled at halftime after throwing a pick 6, giving up a fumble that was returned for a TD, and being sacked in the end zone for no apparent reason. King also missed a wide open receiver (i.e. beat his man who was trying to press, the safety was blitzing, and there was no one else within 30 yards of him) who could have crawled to the end zone late in the 1st half, which was the final straw. King may never see the field again. The Frogs and backup freshman Shaun Gilmore almost overcame King's complete stupidity in the 2nd half, and actually held a 30-27 lead with just under 2 minutes left in the 4th, before BYU QB Leonard Butler completed an astonishing, miraculous, astounding, incredulous 46 yard TD pass on a 4th and 17 amid quadruple (I emphasize, quadruple as in 1 guy surrounded by 4 defenders who were playing deep because it was 4th and 17) coverage in the end zone for the game winning TD.

    Jack King; 3 of 16, 31 yards, 3 INTs
    Shaun Gilmore; 9 of 15, 196 yards, 1 INT
Walter Brooks (freshman filling in for still injured starter Heath Noel); 22 carries, 134 yards, 3 TDs

The 4-5 Hurricanes came into blacksburg ready to play. Rushing for 100 plus yds and throwing for 314 yds against the hokies secondary. Turn overs decided this game with miami having 2 to the hokies 0. Hokies Qb Pruit took advantage of the turn overs and threw for 350 yds, 4 TDS and 0 intereptions. Starting RB Michael Holmes was injured late in the 2nd and is out for 3 weeks due to a sprained wrist. Back up RB step in to rush for 80 yds and a 34 yd run for a TD. WR Davis had 3 rec for 88yds and 2TDS. Pruit threw TDS to three different recievers. Time of possession was pretty much even. Coach Perry said" good hard earned win and solid performance on both sides of the ball, but time to put that behind us and get ready for Georgia Tech in Atlanta next week"

    Kansas 27
    Georgia 24

Kansas-Georgia was expected to be a high scoring affair but neither team scored until Kansas’s Anthony Pierson ran for a score from 6 yards out. UGA had a great possession capped by a Houdini act pulled by the QB where he avoided a sack and ran 28 yards tying the game at 7 with 0:39 left but Kansas rushed back, scoring on a 43-yards pass with just 5 seconds left. In the 4th quarter Kansas led 24-17 and was able to hold off the UGA offense from tying the game. They put a scoring drive together that was capped by a short 18-yard FG to go up 10, but UGA would score easily, bringing the game to within 3 with 0:33 left, but they would not recover the onside successfully.
