Epic Comeback Propels Wake Forest Over NC State; 41-38

Defense was optional tonight in Winston-Salem. NC State raced out to a 21-3 lead before the Demon Deacons showed up, but a TD with a little over a minute left in the half, followed by a 3 and out from the defense and another TD with 9 seconds left close the gap to a manageable 21-17 NC State lead. More of the same in the 2nd half, however, and it looked like it had gotten out of reach again as the Wolfpack scored two quick TDs in the 3rd quarter to run up a 35-17 lead. Then something funny happened. The Deacon defense started making tackles. Wolfpack receivers started dropping passes. A late 3rd quarter TD made it 35-24. A rare 3rd down stop and NC State settled for a FG instead of a TD. 38-24 with about 5 minutes left. A TD with 3:42 to go and it's 38-21. And then the play of the day, as NC State QB T Creecy made the only mistake of the game, throwing an INT and giving the Deacons the ball at midfield. A few quick strike passes later and Mike Campanaro hauled in his 2nd TD of the day to tie it at 38. A miraculous 3 and out followed, giving Wake the ball back with just under a minute to go. More pin point accuracy from Wake QB Tanner Price and a 32 yard FG as time expired won the day. What drama!

    Tanner Price; 37 of 43, 423 yards, 4 TDs
Mike Campanaro; 9 catches, 105 yards, 2 TDs
Sherman Ragland; 6 catches, 108 yards
2 others with 5 catches and 2 more with 2.

Top ranked LSU moves to 10-0

    Mississippi State 10
    #1 LSU 42

Hello and good evening. This is J LO, The Big Booty Hoe reporting for GMONEY TV as well as Channel 5 as I am here in Death Valley as the Top ranked team in the land faced off tonight against a much improved Mississippi State Bulldog team. Once again there was a sell out crowd so the blackout was lifted for the local TV station Channel 5 to carry the game here in Baton Rouge. LSU steamrolled over the Bulldogs by the score of 42-10. LSU dominated from the start as they drove down the field on their opening possession as Zach Mettenberger found a wide open Russell Shepard from 37 yards out to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs drove down field and answered with a FG to make it a 7-3 ball game. LSU got the ball back and Mettenberger once again connected with Shepard on a nifty 70 yard TD pass on 3rd down to make it a 14-3 ball game. That's how the first QTR would end.

LSU then once again went on the attack after forcing another Bulldog punt. this time, JR back up RB Michael Ford scored on a sensational 27 yard run to make it a 21-3 LSU lead. Both teams traded punts and LSU was on the move once again. Mettenberger then threw his 3rd TD of the first half, this time to All SEC and All American nominated TE Chase Clement to make it a 28-3 LSU lead and that was the end of the scoring in the first half. When the gun sounded, the crowd was very vocal to show their appreciation of the effort put forth by the Tigers in the first half.

The 3rd QTR started and the Bulldogs went on a nice drive after their defense picked off Mettenberger. Mississippi State took advantage of the turnover and scored to make it a 28-10 game. LSU took the kickoff and went back to work. Mettenberge passed for his 4th TD of the game and the 2nd to Clement to make it a 35-10 ball game. After trading a couple of punts each the 3rd QTR came to an end.
Coach GMONEY emptied the bench in the 4th QTR on both sides of the ball. SO Back up QB Jerrard Randall found fellow SO Back up WR James Landry from 16 yards out to make it a 42-10 game and complete the scoring for this one. The back up offense and defense of LSU gained some valuable playing time in the 4th QTR as they were just thrilled to get into the game even though it was pretty much garbage time. Ah, here comes Coach GMONEY walking up to the podium and he looks pretty relaxed. Let's see what he has to say to the Media today.

    NOTABLE LSU STATS

    Zach Mettenberger 14/21/246/4td's/1int
    Spencer Ware 15 carries/79 yards
    Michael Ford 7 carries/37 yards/1td
    Alfred Blue 8 carries/48 yards

7 different receivers caught at least 1 pass

    Chase Clement 4 rec/77 yards/2td's
    James Landry 4 rec/39 yards/1td
    Russell Shepard 3 rec/134 yards/2td's
    Odell Beckham 3 rec/23 yards

LSU DEFENSE HAD 6 SACKS AND 1 INT...JR CB Tyram Mathieu had the int

GMONEY15: " What up Bitches. ( The Media laughs ) this game was all about getting off to a good start and we did just that. It was nice to see Zach click with his WR's today while throwing downfield and keeping the chains moving. I have given him a tough time lately as any other player may have cracked but Zach has tough skin and his performance today was a good thing to see. Let's hope he continues to lead this offense and team like a starting QB on any major program should. My defense is beginning to come together and I like that. Most of you guys know my motto. Offense sells tickets but DEFENSE wins Championships. We are not quite there yet on either side of the ball but we are gradually seeing improvements and I like that. OK time to go now and prepare for out next SEC game. Thanks for coming out, god bless and good night."

There you have it folks. A rather jovial mood by Coach GMONEY a we haven't seen him like that in several weeks. This is J Lo, The Big Booty Hoe signing off from GMONEY TV as well as doing double duty with Channel 5 as the Top Ranked team in the land improves to 10-0. Thanks for listening to the telecast and peace be with you. Good night.

    Michigan wrecks Northwestern 56-14

Nobody expected Northwestern to win this game but Michigan leading 35-0 at the end of the first half was completely unexpected. At the end of the first half all Michigan starters were pulled, having completely decimated Northwestern's defense. Denard Robinson had yet another terrific game, passing 12/13 for 113 yards and a TD. He also rushed for 119 yards on 15 carries and had 3 TDs on the ground. HB Fitzgerald Toussaint managed to stay healthy and rushed for 74 yards and a TD in that first half. Star receiver Jeremy Gallon also had a big first half, catching 6 balls for 83 yards and a TD. Michigan finished the game with over 400 yards rushing on 50 carries. Freshman HB Justice Hayes showed us a little of what's going to be the norm in future years, rushing for 143 yards and 2 TDs in the 2nd half alone. Michigan never had to punt the ball and completed every third down conversion finishing 8/8 for the game.

Next week Michigan travels to #25 Iowa for the last game of the regular season. If the Wolverines can pull off the win they'll face Notre Dame in the conference championship.

UVA RIPS APART THE MIAMI DEFENSE FOR A 37-10 WIN

Today was a great day to be a cavalier. UVA had just moved into the top 25 for the first time in a LOOOONGGGG time, and great powerful demon lords Miami were coming to town to face a sold out Scott Stadium and the UVA Cavaliers. And it was also a great to be a kid, as it was snowing in UVA. Although the players weren't to happy about the snow, you should have seen the Miami players. Coming from Miami to below freezing temps is no fun folks..Anyways off to the game. Miami got off to a quick start against the UVA defense. But Coach Rein, and Coach Scott didn't seem to mind as they knew the UVA defense always gets off to a slow start. After UVA tied it a 7 both teams traded a field goal. Thats when things got UGLY. Next UVA drive Parks ran all over the Miami defense, so UVA decided to call a lil' play action. Rocco threw the ball to Phillips who got the ball for 14 yards but then went another 60 to score a TD! Basically the rest of the game was UVA running the ball down Miami's throat and Rocco throwing PA passes. The game ended 37-10 and thankfully for UVA no injures occurred in this game. Next UVA plays rival North Carolina and hopefully moves closer to a ACC championship game with Wake Forest.

Won't be able to do any fleshed out reports about my game as I don't have my laptop but here we go on my phone wish me luck lol.

    Louisville shuts down Nassib-

Coming into this game Ryan Nassib was one of the hottest quarterbacks this season having thrown for nearly 3000 yards already. Louisvilles defense has been playing great against the pass almost all year and would hold the second best passer in the nation to under 50% completion and collect 2 picks one of which got taken back to the house. The offense really didn't have to do too much as Bridgewater only had to throw 8 Times for 93 yards and a touchdown. The ball was in Dominique Browns hands almost the whole game as he racked up 113 yards and a td. The second string was in the whole second half and going up 35-0 at half got the starters a little rest heading into the last 2 games of the season.

    Cowboys Crush the Mountaineers
    45-23
    [IMG][IMG]
A game that was set to showcase two outstanding quarterbacks did not fail to disappoint. Clint Chelf and Geno Smith both played outstanding in this battle of air raid style offenses. Chelf finished the day throwing 28-33, 397 yard 5 TD's 1 Int. He also scrambled for a 13 yard touchdown.
The story of the day was once again the Cowboy offense. After holding the Mountaineers to a three and out, Oklahoma State wasted no time in finding the endzone. The Black and Orange have scored a touchdown on their opening possession in the past three games. The Cowboys closed the first quarter with a 10-0 lead.
"When we start fast, it always puts us in a great position. The opposing offense feels the need to keep up and that sets our defense up with the possibility of making plays. It hasn't happend much lately, but they still have that chance," said Coach Gundy of his quick hitting offense. West Virginia was able to creep within 7 points of the Cowboys early in the second quarter, but that was the closest they would get during the game. OSU took a 14 point lead into half time and continued to build upon it in the second half.
The Cowboy defense had another solid outing. West Virginia was able to move the ball against the defense, but were forced to settle for field goals rather than touchdowns. The second half continued much like the first. Oklahoma State marching down the field and West Virginia not so much. The Cowboys were elated after winning their 9th game of the season and are looking forward to performing well in the last three games of the season.
Chelf was not the only Cowboy to exhibit impressive play against the Mountaineers. Isiah Anderson has been emerging as Chelf's favorite target the entire season, and he had a huge day against the West Virginia secondary. Anderson finished with 7 receptions for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. The senior has amassed 771 yards and 12 touchdowns on the year. Fans in Stillwater are dumbfounded that Anderson is not mentioned as a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff award. Clint Chelf has also been undervalued by awards committees according to Cowboy fans. They indeed have a point. Chelf has the highest completion percentage in the NCAA at 75.4%, the next highest is 63.9%. He has thrown for 2,661 yards and 30 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions (5-1 TD to Int ratio). Today each player made a statement. It's time for the award committees to pay attention.

    Great Game in South Bend!

No time for a full write up, but Utah just gave #4 ND a run. Sloppy game for both, lots of dropped picks and missed opportunities by both sides. Full write up tomorrow AM.

    Rutgers 38 - Florida 17
Rutgers dominated this game. Went to Gainesville, Florida with absolutely no fear and just handed it to the Gators. The difference in the game was the turnover battle. Rutgers had three defensive touchdowns, two fumble recoveries and an interception. A definite confidence booster for this Rutgers team. The Scarlet Knights will go back to Big East play next week when Cincinnati comes to town.

Notre Dame Survives Battle With Utes

The Fighting Irish came into this one undefeated and in the top 5, but Utah was not intimidated in the House That Rockne Built. Having played two top 5 teams to the wire previously, they were confident they could hang with anybody, and proved it once again in this one. Early on, ND looked the part of a top team, stopping the initial Utah drive cold and then marching down the field before being held to a field goal to go up 3-0. The Irish D continued to control the Utah offense through the early part of the game and got the ball back to the offense. ND controlled the ball on a long TD drive throughout the 2nd quarter, culminating with a 1 yard TD run on 4th and Goal to go up 10-0. That decision proved to be huge later in the game. ND again stuffed Utah on their next possession, getting the ball back with 2 minutes in the half and hoping to make something happen to pull away. Unfortunately, the drive stalled quickly thanks to some great Utah defense, which led to the Utes getting the ball back with plenty of time to mount a drive of their own, and they did. Utah drove the ball right down the field, picking apart the Irish for several first downs all the way inside the 10 with the clock ticking down. Following a short completion, ND stopped the receiver short of the goal and the clock continued to roll, and Utah had no timeouts remaining. The QB hurried the troops to the line to get the snap off, but rather than spiking it to go for the FG, ran a play and were stopped short again. It was a huge play for the defense to maintain the 10 point lead going into the half where the offense would get the ball first with a shot to build on their lead.

The Utes came out in the second half on a mission. The D made an insane pick on the first drive of the half, as seen here:

Fortunately the Irish D returned the favor with a pick of their own on the next drive to get the ball back. Unfortunately, Utah smoked Golson on a play-action pass attempt, jarring the ball loose, picking it up for a 42 yard TD to swing momentum and make it a game at 10-7.

Things didn't get much better for the Irish from there, as Utah again stopped them and took the ball back with a chance to take the lead. The offense finally got the ball moving and methodically moved down the field before the Irish D finally made a huge stop with a big sack by Manti Teo to force them into a field goal, which tied it up at 10 as the 3rd wound down.

The 4th quarter opened with ND getting their offense back in gear, as they were able to convert several 3rd downs on the way to the redzone before the drive stalled out inside the 10 and settled for the FG to go up 3. Utah took the ball back and had a great drive of their own, until that too stalled out inside the 10 and they were forced to take the easy 3 to tie with just over 2 minutes to go. The Irish offense stepped up big time, following a 1st down, Golson found WR John Goodman on a hitch route, which he caught, turned and slammed the CB to the ground as he took off for the endzone. The DB finally caught him at about the 3 yard line, but the damage was done. Utah played it strategically and allowed the RB to walk into the endzone on the next play in order to get the ball back with over a minute to go.

Utah took the ball back and made a few quick plays, then Mr. All-American himself, Manti Teo jumped a route to pick off a pass and essentially seal the deal for ND and preserve the undefeated start.

It was a great game despite a lot of sloppiness on both sides. ND was fortunate to pull this one out once again and the charmed season continues. Great game Theezy, you're going to be a really tough out as you build that team up the next few seasons and have the players you need.

    Player of the Game
Manti Teo - 2 huge sacks to end drives in the redzone, game sealing pick.
