    UCF 44
    ECU 31

This game started off with a bang and the offense were rolling. After a UCF punt, ECU drove the field for a 99-yard TD drive capped off by and 18 yard TD pass by Dominic Davis. 12 seconds later, UCF responded with a 68 yard bomb to WR Quincy McDuffie. 2 minutes, and 2 scores later, the game was tied at 14 at the end of the 1st quarter. UCF then stepped up on defense and was able to take a 24-17 halftime lead and 34-17 lead in the 4th quarter. The difference in the game was ECU's 3 turnovers to UCF's 0.

UCF is now 10-1 on the season and has clinched a spot in the C-USA title game. ECU drops to 4-7 and is no longer bowl eligible. They face the 9-1 UTEP Miners next week in Orlando. If UCF loses, they will most likely have a rematch with the Miners in El Paso, but if they win, they will most likely face the Tulane Green Wave at home.

UAB Let's Another One Slip Away, Falls Short to USM 32-29

For the third consecutive week, the UAB Blazers lost by a mere 3 points, this time to rival Southern Mississippi. After a quick three and out by USM to start the game, QB Bryan Ellis and his offense took the field. On the third play of the drive, Ellis would force a horrible pass which would be picked off by the USM defense. This turnover led to the game's first points via a 40 yard field goal by USM K Danny Hrapmann. On the ensuing kickoff, UAB's Pat Shed would take it to the house on a 99 yard kick return touchdown. Southern Miss drove down the field on the next drive, but would be stopped short and added another field goal by Hrapmann. Shed would work his magic on the ensuing kickoff, scoring his second kickoff return touchdown of the game, third of the season, ending the first quarter. The Golden Eagles came out strong once again, but UAB's defense stepped up and forced yet another field goal by USM. On the next drive for the Blazers, Ellis would be hit hard, and would later be diagnosed with a mild concussion, taking him out of the game. Backup quarterback Mike Miller stepped in for the injured Ellis, but would struggle for most of the game. After an excellent punt pinned USM down inside the five, QB Austin Davis would scramble and gain 15 yards before being rocked and fumbling the ball. Fortunately for the Golden Eagles, FB Bruce Johnson was at the right place at the right time, recovering the fumble and rumbling 67 yards for the touchdown giving USM a 16-14 halftime lead. On the opening drive of the second half, Davis would pick apart the mediocre Blazers defense, and eventually hooked up with WR Kevin Bolden on a 7 yard touchdown toss. USM's defense would stuff Shed on two consecutive runs forcing a third down and long situation. Miller would take the snap, drop back and find a wide open Patrick Hearn who would break free and score on an 81 yard touchdown connection. Southern Miss then added two more field goals, giving themselves a 29-21 lead going into the final quarter. After some great defense by both teams, UAB would eventually tie the game with 3 minutes remaining, thanks to a 11 yard touchdown from Miller to WR Jackie Williams. The Blazers then successfully converted the two point conversion to tie the game. Southern Miss put together a great final drive, and eventually got into field goal range, where Hrapmann would make his sixth field goal of the game, this one to take the lead with only seconds to spare. This loss now drops the Blazers to 3-8 for their disappointing 2011 campaign.

    QB Mike Miller - 6/18, 133 yds, 2 td, 2 int

    Memphis 28 Marshall 7

Marshall only score of the game came on the first play of the game on a 71 yard TD run which the RB broke a tackle and was off to races. It was a great play called by Coach Oshio.

Memphis' defense played lights out. Though it gave up some yards in the rush game it completely shut down Marshall's passing game by allowing 22 yards passing. Memphis forced and recovered to fumbles on of which was taken back for 6.

Coach Noffke improved his win total to 7 wins and with two games left (including bowl season) is 1 win away from his season goal of 8 wins. Coach Noffke is definitely turning this program around and has them headed in the right direction.

Also, Memphis has received several soft commits in recruiting.
