New York -- On (another) day where the Jets' defense couldn't keep up with average players, it was Sanchez and the running game that kept it close.

Cincinnati came out connection to anybody and everybody on their opening drive, ultimately ending the drive with a 26 yard pass from Palmer to Gresham. Both teams struggled to score until the end of the quarter when the Bengals put up 3 points as time expired.

    10-0 Bengals after one.

The Jets finally got their offense going, but the team had to settle for a field goal with 5:44 left in the second quarter.

"We had some chances to get touchdowns early but we just could not execute on third down," said Coach Davis.

After having their lead cut to seven, the Bengals marched down the field and used a Cedric Benson 1-yard run to go up 17-3 late in the second quarter. The Jets were able to put up a field goal with five seconds left in the half.

    17-6 Bengals at the half.

The bad news coming out of the break for the Jets was the 11 point deficit facing them. The good news? The Bengals would not score again.

The run game came alive for New York in the second half as Tomlinson ended the day 78 yards while Greene tallied up 82 to lead both teams.

Tomlinson and Richardson each had touchdown runs in the third quarter to put the Jets up 20-17 after three quarters. Then the defense came alive.

Antonio Cromartie would pick off a pass intended for Bernard Scott. Cromartie would take the pass 39-yards for a touchdown to put the Jets up 27-17.

Cromartie would pick off two more Palmer passes, with one allowing Greene to score a 22-yard run on the ensuing possession.

The Jets move to 8-3 on the year and will look to find a way to stop a nasty Patriots offense.
