Hokies Win Commonwealth Cup in Dominating Fashion over Virginia 51-7
It was an impressive first victory for interim head Coach Phillips, as Beamer takes a leave of absence, and return not likely. Coach Phillips rallied his troops for this crucial rivalry game, and the men of Blacksburg came to play.
All facets of the game were in play for the Hokies, as a balanced offensive attack led the way as Qb T. Taylor threw for 236 and 3TD's, and stud RB D. Evans ran for 133 yards. Backup speedster R. Williams scored 2 TD's himself.
The special teams, a staple of Hokie football was alive and well, as the initial score of the game came from the Punt team (Recon Squad) as shown below, a Big Hit timed perfectly led to a scoop and score by C. Hill

After that, the game was dominated by the Hokies, as the over-matched Cavaliers could not match the talent nor the intensity the Hokies brought today.
"This was a great feeling, now knowing if Coach Beamer will be back, I am proud of our guys and the way they prepared. I hope to stick around, and have the AD sign me up for the long run..." Coach Phillips states in the post-game presser.
Ohio State recovers from a 9-0 deficit to down Illinois 21-16 in Columbus. The Buckeyes overcame a poor first half with 21 straight points to clinch a share of the Big Ten title. Rival Michigan is all that is left for the 8-2 Bucks, who are currently sitting at 15th in the latest poll.
The OSU running game churned out 187 yards and was led by Brandon Saine with 103 yards on 20 carries. Terrelle Pryor, who again had to leave the game briefly with an injury, threw his first pick of the year but still completed 11 of 18 for 151 yards and a score.
#5 LSU 31-21 #6 Ole Miss
My game was simmed during the advance, so the stats no longer match up. Glad we got to keep our win, unfortunately we lost our center for 3 weeks. Oh well.
