    Florida State Gets it Done
    [IMG]
Wins 33-21 against a Tough Hokie Team

The first quarter started and it was all Tech, as they broke an 84 yard TD run and returned a pick for 6 on the next Seminole possession. However, the CPU Gods began to shine on the Seminoles as Winston was picked off in the end zone, killing an otherwise nice drive. Shockingly, the VT defender decided to try and return the ball and was tackled immediately at the 1 yard line. On the next play, the Seminole defense stuffed VT for a safety and we ended the quarter at 14-2 VT.

Over the next two quarters, Jameis Winston took over for Florida State, throwing for 364 yards and more than him, the WRs for Florida State were able to make spectacular catches and runs. twice, Cody Greene was able to leap over double coverage and come down with the pass and run for long gains. TE Nick O'Leary out jumped a VT backer and hauled in a long pass of his own. By the time the madness had ended it was 26-14 FSU. VT was able to cut the lead to 26-21 late, but a long drive for FSU that ended in a James Wilder TD ended the game.

This was a huge win for Florida State as they now welcome the 8-1 Maryland Terrapins to Doak next week with the ACC championship on the line.

gg DerekC sometimes you get the bull, sometimes you get the horns. Definitely the latter for you last night. My time is coming.

With Renner Out, Berg Impressive In Win
    UNC 45
    GT 21
Sophomore transfer Brandon Berg stepped up in place of an injured Bryn Renner Saturday to lead UNC to a 45-21 win over Georgia Tech. Berg finished 11-18 for 243 yards and 3 scores, while adding a 46 yards and 2 scores on the ground. Romar Morris contributed 76 yards on the ground, while WR Steve Dunlap continues an impressive freshman campaign snagging another 100 yards worth of passes and scoring.
Defensively, FS Tre Boston was flying all over the field, making 9 solo tackles on the day. LE Tim Jackson and DT Ethan Farmer each had 2 sacks a piece, as Jackson continues an outstanding season as the nation's leader in sacks. Tim Shankle grabbed his 3 interception of the season.
The Heels now travel to rival NC State where they look to take on a motivated Wolfpack squad who nearly beat them last year. If the Heels can slip by, all that stand in the way of an ACC Championship game birth is the Hurricanes of Miami.

    Harrington, Ward Come Up Big
For the first time in his career at OSU QB Sean Mannion was unable to finish the game this afternoon against the Stanford Cardinals. On the second drive he took a hit that knocked him out of the game with a mild concussion. Coach Saw tried SR Jack Lomax but after his first throw he got pulled immediately and SO Richie Harrington took over. Harrington did well throughout the game throwing for almost 200 yards and 2 TDs but he had help. SO RB Terron Ward had a tremendous day on the ground to help with the passing game.
Stanford would get things going with some great defensive play and killed the Beavers with the no huddle. With two minutes left in the opening quarter QB Brett Nottingham found TE Levine Toilolo for the 17 yard score. With the injury to Mannion it was up to Harrington to lead the way. He struggled at first to find the open man and even threw an interception but once the nerves settled in he was locked in. Stanford dared Harrington to beat them by locking in on the run. It took until the ending seconds of the quarter for either team to score. With 56 seconds left on their own 24 the Beavers came out in I-Formation to just run out the clock or that is what Stanford thought. Stanford brought a blitz and OSU called a PA leaving one on one coverage on the outside. Once Harrington pulled the ball back he lofted it up to WR Brandin Cooks, who caught it and ran it in for the 76 yard TD. On the next play QB Brett Nottingham hooked up with WR Jemari Roberts for a huge 70 yard gain. The big gain setup the easy two yard TD. Harrington had 40 seconds the get down field to at least score 3 points. With 3 timeouts the Beavers were able to get down field and score with time expiring. Harrington found Micah Hatfield on the 5 yard drag route to go into halftime tied at 14 apiece.
The third quarter was where the rest of the action would happen and it got pretty exciting but in the end the Beavers were too much. Terron Ward had a hay day once the Cardinal defense had to respect Harrington's arm. Ward would instantly break the tie with this big run.
Well to say the least the lead did not last very long as CB Terrence Brown took the kickoff back for a 98 yard TD. Then WR Obum Gwachum took the next kickoff to the house! Gwachum's was only a 91 yard TDs but his was more electrifying by breaking two tackles and out running the rest of the Cardinal special teamers. Stanford would be unable to score the rest of the way and Oregon State would get score on a 44 yard FG with two minutes left in the third quarter.
