Id love to post a full write up, but I gotta go to bed and I'm heading out of town tomorrow for the weekend.

Great game, back and forth. Idaho outscored UAB 21-7 in the 4th quarter to win 35-28. After a crazy jet sweep play to tie it at 28-28 with a minute and a half left, UAB QB Isabelle was VANDALIZED! when he threw a crossing route and didn't see a waiting Idaho linebacker who stepped in front to intercept it with :40 left in the game. 2 runs later, on 3rd and 5 and on the edge of field goal territory, freshman qb Brent Terry audibled to a pass play when he saw the UAB secondary stacking the line of scrimmage. A quick three step drop and Terry lobbed in a beautiful 27 yard rainbow to a Vandal receiver that had beaten his man coverage. TD vandals. :19 was not enough time for UAB to get anywhere, and Potato Magic strikes again as the Vandals finish up 6-2 in their 2011 CUSA campaign. They now hope for WKU and Ark St losses to move them up the bowl pecking order. The Vandals have one game remaining; they take on struggling (4-7, last in Big Cow South) Texas Tech next week. POTATO MAGIC!!!

    2011 Week 13
    UAB Blazers - 28
    Idaho Vandals - 35

Moscow, ID – The UAB Blazers fail on the road in Idaho, falling to the Vandals 35-28, letting a chance at the CUSA Championship fall through their fingers. With the scored tied and time running out, Junior QB David Isabelle threw a pick that would cost the Blazers the game. “I just didn’t see the dude in zone, what else can I say. I lost the game for us!”

The Vandals capitalized on the turnover, scoring the winning touchdown with 19 seconds left, hitting a go route on a 3rd and 4 from the UAB 24 yard line. “We were playing the run, trying to force the FG and coach Tech caught us with our pants down.” Said coach Recchem after the game. Coach Recchem also hinted that this will be the last season the Blazers play with the 3-4 defense. After getting gashed once again on the ground this week who could blame him!

The loss puts the Blazers at 6-5 on the season with one game left before a probable bowl bid. UAB will host Troy in the season finale next week.

Great game Tech…it was definitely a back and forth affair that really could have gone either way.
