FSU escapes with 17-10 win over BC
EJ Manuel had his second straight horrible game but thanks to great play from their defense in the 2nd half the Seminoles were able to continue their quest for the National Championship. Boston College was able to jump out to a 10-0 lead thanks to a pair of turnovers by Manuel first an interception which led to a Nate Freese field goal. Manuel later fumbled which was picked up Luke Kuechly and returned for 51 yards inside the FSU 20. The ball was eventually punched in from a yard out by Rolandan Finch. The FSU offense struggles were amplified when Chris Thompson had to leave the game with a mild concussion.
FSU managed to claw back into the game with a Dustin Hopkins field and trailed 10-3 heading into halftime. The FSU defense dominated in the 2nd half harassing BC QB Chase Rettig and finally made the big play when CB Greg Reid had his 3rd interception in 2 weeks. Reid bought the ball inside the 10 and FSU tied the score when FB Lonnie Pryor scored a 1 yard touchdown. After forcing a Boston College 3 and out the Seminoles took their first lead when RB James Wilder scored on a 17 yard run up the gut.
