In a much anticipated NFC showdown, the New Orleans Saints used a big play offense and great first half defense to sail past the Lions at home 38-24 to keep themselves undefeated at 12-0 on the season.

If you just looked at the statistics you might think the game turned out differently. The Lions rolled to 410 yards of offense, while holding the normally high flying Saints to just 260 yards of offense. However, as is the case in many League games turnover were the story. The Lions committed 4 to the Saints 1 which gave the Saints all the momentum early at home, and they would build a big enough lead where the late comeback attempts by Detroit were too litttle too late.

Drew Brees continued his MVP push with a solid, if unspectacular, 200 yard 3 touchdown performance. He now leads The League with 38 touchdown passes to just 10 interceptions.

The Saints look to lock up a first round bye next week against one of the AFC's best teams, the Tennesee Titans.

gg BigSmooth33 . Sorry for the quick recap, its been too busy with me missing all weeking going to Tuscaloosa. Looking forward to a possible playoff rematch!
