Week 13 - Season 5

Defense - Arizona, CB Blake Bell :RS:So - 10 tackles, sack, 2 INT, FF
Offense - Ohio State, HB Carlos Hyde :RS:Sr - 36 car, 246 yds, 5 TD, 3 rec, 37 yds

BCS Top 10
RK LW TEAM WINS LOSSES POINTS NOTES
1 1 Southern Miss 10 0 1.000 Tex A&M, and rematch w/ Tulsa left.
2 4 Ohio State 8 1 .994 Leap frogs up to the #2 spot! HB Hyde is a load!
3 3 Texas Tech 10 1 .989 Still has to play Purdue, and Colorado in the Big 12 Championship
4 7 Michigan 9 1 .980 Will have to beat OSU this week, 3 way Big Ten tie.
5 5 Tennessee 8 2 .975 Seriously? Wins over 2 ranked opponents (#25 S Car and #8 Bama)
6 6 Tulsa 10 1 .975 Has a great shot at getting in if Beaver can get things going in the rematch, its only right that USM gets upset..
7 9 Cincinnati 8 1 .960 Lost 12-10 to Syracuse, still has to play Marcus Kemp and the Chippewas
8 2 UCLA 8 2 .958 6-4 Oregon and 6-4 USC, Arizona spoils their season
9 10 Florida State 9 1 .951 Will have a tough challenge in rival Florida this week @ the swamp
10 11 Alabama 7 2 .949 Has to play not one Riptides team, but two. Auburn this week, Ball State the next!

- Others: #11 Colorado (9-1), #12 Auburn (9-1), #13 Purdue (8-2), #14 Arizona (8-2), #15 Bowling Green (10-0)

It's pretty likely that we will have an all user top 10 by seasons end, besides Ohio State or Michigan I think..
Just as I assumed, things are about to get veeeery interesting. So many questions!! USM is pushing for another undefeated season, but history is not on his side! So tough to beat guys twice around, not sure if it has been done yet in this OD..

What I don't understand is how do I go to Eugene and spank a top 10 Oregon team, then a few weeks later go to LA and beat #2 UCLA, beat USC by two scores, all in a 7 game winning streak and it gets me a #17 rating? WTF is that about?

Hey now, my recruiting has just been on fire this year, thats all.

This crap is going to get NUTS. I'd be alright with Auburn in a BCS bowl, but, lose to SMiss and there no way.

I can't believe the year York and Troy have put together, nice fellas! Especially Troy starting off rocky with those user games and look now, staring down just him and CPU games for the PAC-10 title, AWESOME! With York, its a rematch from the epic Houston/Rice battles...CHAOS!!!!!!!

I simmed through offline and...

after the regular season..
1. Southern Miss 12-0
2. Michigan 11-1
3. Texas Tech 11-1
4. Tulsa 11-1

Looks like winner of the C USA will get in. TTU needs to beat me, beat Colorado, and hope OSU beats Michigan..

Tulsa beat USM 24-22, USM dropped to #5 and will play #8 Arizona in the Rose Bowl..
#2 Tulsa plays #1 Michigan in the NC. Tech wins out, but stays at #3 and plays #9 Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.

BG won coach of the year, and got an invite to the Conference USA. That's the stuff I was talking about..

Hell of a write up Murk. Got my win against Nebraska. 10-1 will do a write up tomorrow. The D was on fire until the end gave up 13 points in the 4th. Need to focus on Kent State now. Hey Rave got an extended scouting report on him. Would love to keep this thing on track before we face Tech. J would love to have you in the Big 12. Max and I should beat down on them for the next couple of years and Oklahoma might be available. Or go reclamation project and sign up for Iowa State. Wifey's Bday today so won't be online tonight to play or advance. Lets keep rolling looking forward to my next game.

Tulsa Dominates Pokes 55-0
One Game From Potential Natty Game

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6
Team 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Tulsa 17 14 14 10 55
OkSt 0 0 0 0 0

Tulsa (#5) moved to 11-1 (7-1) on the season with a completely dominating performance over in-state rival Oklahoma State to continue Jman's unbeaten streak against in-state rivals. It was a great day for the 'Canes as not only did they get an 11th win on the year and advance to a CUSA championship game where they will get another shot at #1 SMiss for a trip to "the big one" but thy accomplished all of their side goals as well. Number one, they will be entirely healthy for the rematch, something that couldn't be said last time. This was accomplished primarily due to the fact that the 2nd team too 97% of the second half snaps. Additionally it they were offensively efficient as they amassed 481 yards and had only 5 incompletions between the two quarterbacks, essentially, it seems they have found a rhythm and a new and comfortable offensive scheme. Defensively the Hurricanes forced turnovers and shut-down the Pokes allowing only 117 total yards of offense.

Things are looking up for Tulsa as, despite distractions, they are having a banner recruiting year and are legitimately in the hunt for a crack at the National Title, it would appear that their fate is where a coach always likes it to be, in their own hands.

Offensive POG:SO HB Jason Horner (16 Carries for 55 Yards, 3TD)

Defensive POG: Entire Defense (117 Total Yards Allowed, 3 Turnovers Forced, 0 Points Allowed)

Arizona Clinches the a share of the PAC 10 crown!

Arizona 35 - Washington 32

This was maybe the hardest PAC 10 game yet (except UCLA) that we've played. Washington just wouldn't stop and were determined to ruin our dream season. In the end though Chris Hamby, Paul Mitchell were just too much for the Huskies.

We started down 14-7 then traded shots until late in the 3rd quarter when we finally went up by two scores 28 - 17 after this great play by WR Dewayne Peace.

But then on the ensuing kickoff Washington returned the kickoff for a TD to close the gap 28-24. This one was fucking amazing! 4 broken tackles in 2 seconds.

AFter we scored our last and final TD making the game 35-24, Washington returned the next kickoff for a TD and converted the 2pt conversion to make it 35-32. We then went on a 21 play, 95 yard drive that ate up the final 6:30 of the game to ice it.

It was a wild, wild, game that was worthy of such a big ocassion for the Arizona Football Program!

Players of the game:

Offense Chris Hamby 40 carries, 185 yards 3 TD, 1 catch 26 yards.

Defense The defensive hero of the UCLA game Blake Bell finished with 7 tackles to lead the defense.

whhheeeewww

After all that we sit at 9-2 with a huge rivalry game next week vs. Arizona State. A win there will clinch Arizona's first ever PAC 10 championship, and almost assuredly a trip to the Rose Bowl!

Bear Down!!! (y)

Wow. Greatest kickoff return ever...EVER! I think these Pac-10 CPU teams play out of their freaking heads in user vs. CPU games. Either that, or I'm just horrible. Nah, can't be that one. :D

Since I have all the time in the world, I did a sim of the rest of the season.

Assumptions:

Everyone wins their CPU games (including Auburn and Bowling Green winning their conference championship games)
Texas Tech beats Purdue and Colorado beats Kent State (just made the higher ranked teams win)

If Texas Tech beats Colorado and USM beats Tulsa, the MNC is Texas Tech vs. USM
With a Colorado win and USM win, it's USM vs. Michigan
Texas Tech and Tulsa win, it's Texas Tech vs. Tulsa
Colorado and Tulsa win, it's Tulsa vs. Michigan

So, yeah, no pressure on you CUSA guys, but the winner of the conference is playing for the title.

There were a couple of nice user bowl games, too, including a UCLA-Auburn rematch in the Sugar Bowl when TT and USM were in the championship. Oh, and sorry Murk/Swag/Chumpalicious, you did NOT make the Rose Bowl. ;) I saw Arizona against Bowling Green and Tennessee, and I believe one other team.

DAMN. So you're saying there is no shot. A fucking shame that we lost to Tulsa the way we did. Who would have thought that that would keep me out of the hunt....I would say that its all about the MNC at Colorado but that would be BS. There is always next year. Now to piss in someones cereal. OHHHHHHH Maaaaaaxxxxxxx you listening!!

Not saying there isn't a shot. If Purdue beats Texas Tech, that could change the whole sim thing I did. I assumed the higher ranking teams won the user games, and we all know anything can happen in those...

Tech is just taking it one game at a time. The Big12 Championship is the most important thing. If Tech can beat Purdue and stay highly ranked that is cool, but the Big12 is priority #1.

Also, Id like to say "yeaa booy" in regards to my QB and WR. Just wait until next year when I have some more weapons at WR! Oh and I think Harris might stay for his Senior year mwuhahahaha.

Id also like to give a shout out to SS Travis "The Truth" Ralph back at Rice. He was my first :4stars: recruit. He came up big in user games, and is looking at a top3 finish for the Thorpe his Senior year. Grats mayne!

The logic police called. You can't say winning the Big 12 Championship is the most important AND that you're taking it one game at a time. That is, unless the Purdue game is after the Big 12 Championship... (y)
