TCU Downs Texas in Lone Star State Showdown

The Horned Frogs raced out to a 24-7 through 3 quarters and were able to weather a late Longhorn rally to take down Texas 24-21. Freshman Shaun Gilmore made his first start of the season and performed admirably, going 10 for 19, 241 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. Fellow freshman Walter Brooks struggled to get anything going on the ground, rushing for just 42 yards despite carrying 24 times, but his biggest contribution was a game breaking 74 yard TD catch and run. TCU ends the regular season next week with a trip to Texas Tech.

On Kansas's 2nd drive, the offense wasn't looking too good until Mike Cummings threw a pass to the HB in the flats on a blitz that went 66 yards for a score, but ISU still had some fight scoring twice in the 1st to go up 14-7. Kansas then dominated the game behind Mike Cummings and WR Jacorey Sheppard who had 2 receiving TDs and scored on a kick and a punt return. Kansas looked pretty good after the 1st quarter and is really hoping for a chance to sneak into the National Title game. Just hoping for Georgia to beat whoever wins the Iron Bowl.

Mike Cummings (QB)- 17-27 for 270 yards, 5 TD, INT, 7 carries for 20 yards
Brock Berglund (QB)- 1-2 for 48 yards, TD, INT
Anthony Pierson (HB)- 11 carries for 51 yards, 66 yard TD reception
Marcello Wilson (HB)- 9 carries for 115 yards, TD
Reggie Daniels (WR)- 7 receptions for 127 yards, 2 TD
Jacorey Sheppard (WR)- 5 receptions for 48 yards, 2 TD, KR TD, PR TD
William Kemp (MLB)- 12 tackles, INT

    South Carolina - 10
    Auburn - 55

Auburn's defense dominated this game, only allowing 230 yards of total offense and forcing six turnovers. They made Gamecock quarterback Tanner McEvoy look silly, holding him to 7/17 on completion while picking him off five times and forcing a fumble on a scramble. The offense was clicking as well, with Heisman hopeful Mike Blakely getting well over 100 yards on the ground.
