    NIU vs WMU

NIU pulled away from a pesty Bronco team in the second half to earn a spot in the MAC Championship game. The Huskies defense had no answer for WMU in the first, leading by only 4 points at the intermisson; 21-17.

NIU had to overcome the WMU team despite losing their starting QB and RB. Luckily, they were only out for the 1 game. Both should be ready for their next game.

The win improves NIU to 8-3(7-1) on the season. Now the Huskies will wait to see which MAC East opponent they will face in the Title Game as it will come down to Temple or Ohio. Bowling Green has an outside shot at going, but will need help from the other teams.

    Final Score:

    NIU- 38

    WMU- 17

    Player of The Game

For the first time this season, a defensive player was named Player of The Week for NIU. Second string SS Tracy Wilson had an opportunity to shine as Coach Forever experimented with a different defensive scheme to better utilize his talent.

    28-3 Nevada

    3rd Qtr
The 2nd string for Nevada gets a good drive going and a FG.

Fresno state answers back with a drive of their own for a 26 yard TD pass.

San Diego State 38-31 #18 Kansas State

Sullivan Returns to Help Secure Win

Sullivan Breaks the plane for game-winning TD with :16 to play

San Diego State got Coach Alexander his signature win, 11 games into his tenure as the Aztecs leader. The Aztecs traveled to Manhattan, KS and knocked off the 18th ranked Wildcats 38-31. Brandon Sullivan who had been out for the last month with injury came back and rescued the Aztecs from their collapse as he scored from 2 yards out in the game's waning seconds. San Diego State jumped out to a 24-10 halftime lead on touchdowns by D Shields and Sullivan, both on 2-yard passes and a 22-yard Adam Henry score, which came with just :04 left in the half. Brian Stahovich also kicked a 46-yard field goal for the Aztecs' 24 points. Kansas State opened the 2nd quarter scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run and also added field goal before the half.

Ryan Lindley avoids the rush and throws a touchdown pass to Henry

The 2nd half saw Kansas State come storming back, much like Wyoming did last week. The Aztecs were outscored 21-14, but once again had to score in the last minute of the game to preserve victory. Davon Brown scored a 2-yard touchdown on a HB Dive to put SDSU up 31-10, then the Wildcats would score the next 3 touchdowns to tie the game with just 1:21 left in the game. Player of the Game Lindley would then drive the Aztecs down the field and put them in position for Sullivan to power in from 2 yards out. Lindley would connect several times with Curtis Wagner on the drive. Wagner was Lindley's favorite target on the day, catching 10 passes for 158 yards. San Diego State improves to 9-2 and will be on a bye next week before traveling to Minnesota to end their regular season.

    Buffalo 40 Temple 37 3OT

First, as representative of the UB football program, I would like to thank the fans for showing up against Temple. The party atmosphere was awesome and was key in what ultimately turned out to be the difference in the game. On Temple's first TD they missed the XP. It was key when we scored to tie game with under 1 min left, we only needed XP to tie.

    Start of OT was 20-20

    Players of game for UB

Jorgensen 1 TD pass around 300 yards passing
Thermilus over 100 yards rushing 3 total TDs, 2 in OT
Sizemore 2 TDs rushing, on 4th down and inches plays, 1 in OT
All the WRs for stepping up in the absence of Hood.

I only saved 1 highlight, I will post it later.

    Next game against LSU.

TOLEDO, Oh -- In the Battle of I-75, the Bowling Green Falcons defeated Toledo 24 - 17 to move to 6-5 and become bowl eligible for the second straight season. Once again, the Falcons were lead by Freshman running back Mark Mays. Mays rushed for 104 yards on 28 carries and added 2 touchdowns. The BG first team defense also performed admirably by holding the powerful Toledo offense to 250 yards and only 10 points.
