The Arizona Cardinals beat the Denver Broncos 24-17 this week in what turned out to be an exciting matchup. The Cards’ defense had a hard time finding an answer for Denver QB Kyle Orton, who was able to methodically pick apart the pass defense. Orton hit Demaryius Thomas on a 44 yd strike at the end of the second quarter and led a late 4th quarter rally to setup what would be a failed onside kick. Arizona’s ability to hold on to the ball and keep Orton off the field was an important factor in this week’s win. The Broncos defense, led by cornerback Champ Bailey and safety Brian Dawkins, did a great job containing the Cardinals high flying offense. Arizona RB Beanie Wells kept Denver on it toes and in turn provided Leinart with several key passing opportunities that led to scores. The Cardinals travel to Carolina next week to take on the 6-6 Panthers.
