Jags Pitch 1st Shutout Of the Season In Dominating Performance

After a disappointing loss and 4th quarter against the Chargers, the Jaguars wanted to come out and show what type of team they really are against the Buccaneers. And that they did in a performance that solidated them as legitimate playoff contenders.

The Bucs got the ball 1st but ended up punting it. The Jags marched down the field on their 1st possession to take the lead 7-0 on a Gabbert pass to Jason Hill. After that yards were tough to come by for both teams. Each side would trade possession until inside the final 2 minutes of the 1st half when Gabbert hit Jason again on a short 10-yard in-route from the Jax 17. The Bucs were blitzing though leaving Hill wide open and he managed to take it 83 yards for his 2nd TD and a 14-0 lead at the half.

It was more of the same in the 2nd half except that the Jags offense began to find some more momentum. On the 1st play from scrimmage in the 2nd half, MJD find a hole and went 75 yards to make it 21-0. Then later in the 3rd after some more stops from the Jags defense, the Jags offense was on the move again and MJD was picking up good yardage on nearly every run. However, inside of the Bucs 10 yard line, MJD would cough it up on a run down to the 5 yard line but WR Mike Thomas managed to be in the right place at the right time picking up the fumble and running it into the end zone for a 28-0 lead.

In the 4th, the Bucs still couldn't move the ball and the Jags were just running out the clock. MJD was able to run in his 2nd TD of the game to make it 35-0. And that would be the final score.
