Bluebean filled in for the Minnesota Vikings and went head to head with Steven's Detroit Lions in a battle for the NFC North lead with just 4 weeks left in the season. It was a tale of 2 1/4 halves if that makes sense. Minnesota looked great in the early going behind Donovan McNabb, Percy Harvin, and Adrian Peterson and jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. McNabb and Peterson got hurt in which McNabb never returned and Peterson only returned for a short time later in the game before getting hurt once again. Harvin got sideline for some time with an injury as well as Chester Taylor. The Lions capitalized behind Calvin Johnson and RB Aaron Brown to come all the way back for a 24-20 4th quarter lead. Peterson came back to catch a 7 yd TD pass from Tavaris Jackson to make it 27-24 Vikes. ( T. Jackson even got hurt in which DJ Shockley played a whole series). The Lions came back down the field with 3 minutes to go and settled for a FG as time expired and sent this game to overtime at 27 a piece. The Lions received the overtime kickoff and had a nice drive into Vikings territory but were shut down and forced to punt from the Vikes 47. The Vikings then moved the ball for a couple of first downs behind the legs of Taylor and timely scramble of Jackson but were then forced to punt. The Lions got the ball with about 3 minutes to go in OT but couldn't get a 1st down and were forced to punt. Vikings then stalled and were forced to punt with less than a minute and this game ended in a crazy tie!

It was that kind of game and this makes the Lions and Vikings both 6-6-1 with 3 games remaining in the season for a shot at the NFC North Crown. Good Game Steven.

I'll bet McNabb didn't know it could end in a tie

I had to go look up these 2 teams' schedules just to see how this might play out.

Vikings and Lions will be underdogs against the Jaguars and Saints in Week 15.

Lions play the Packers and Vikings play the Chargers in Week 16.

    Vikings vs. Lions Week 17.

If the ABC tiebreaker holds true, the Vikings could be in a must-win vs. the Chargers in Week 16 to force a Week 17 division championship game. That is assuming the favorites win in the matchups of Week 15 and Week 16. Should be a nice finish to the season.

Great game Bluebean, still can't believe that neither one of us was able to score in OT, both defenses tightened up completely. Looks like it might come down to our week 17 game to decide the division.
