Welcome to ESPN's College Gameday, live from Louisville, Kentucky, the site of this week's Game of the Week between the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Louisville Cardinals. I'm Chris Fowler and I'll be joined by Herbie and the Coach to discuss this week's news from around the world of college football as well as preview this week's great slate of action on the gridiron.

Well folks this will be the last stop for Gameday in the regular season as there aren't any noteworthy games next week which makes this week so much more important for teams around the country. Some are trying to solidify conference spots, while others are looking to better their position for bowl games. Whichever it is, teams are gearing up for college football's final week of action.

We start here in Louisville, where Gameday is this week. Let's welcome Samantha Ponder with the latest news on this week's Game of the Week between the Wolfpack and the Cardinals.

"A late-season ACC Atlantic matchup where we find two teams looking to battle for bowl game position.

"N.C. State started off strong winning their first 5 games before falling to Syracuse in an epic 5 OT game and have not been the same team since. Their HB Shadrach Thornton as literally carried them the entire season amassing nearly 1200 yards and 17 TDs. Only a sophomore, Thornton has stepped up and become a leader on this team. He will need to be the same back he has been all season in order to get past a tough Louisville defense.

Louisville had very high expectations to begin the season. Fans wanted to see a BCS championship alongside the NCAA Basketball championship trophy. They started out hot winning their first four, but after a short leave taken by their coach they lost their next four. With their coach returning they are on a three game winning streak thanks to their NFL caliber QB Teddy Bridgewater. He will have to show off his NFL arm today to get his team to 8 wins on the season.

    Players to Watch:
For N.C. State: HB Shadrach Thornton

    For Louisville: QB Teddy Bridgewater
