    Week 14

    Battle of the Bays

    49ers 31 at Raiders 9

49ers would travel to Oakland for Coach Gaddy 2nd game back. Game started out slow for the 49ers offensively but the defense was able to hold the Raider to 2 first quarter field goals. Cutler would catch fire in the 2nd quarter connecting with B.Marshall from 10 yards out on a slant pass for the games first TD score. Coffee would follow that up later in the quarter to end the half with a 7 yard TD run to put the 49ers up 14-6 at the break. 49ers did an excellent job stopping the Raiders from breaking the endzone stalling some drives one right after the other Raiders would tack on a 3rd field goal to make it 14-9. From there 49ers would create more space add 2 more TD and a last minute field goal to close out the game.

Key point of the game as 3rd and 4th down and inches where Patrick Willis single handily cause a turnover on downs with 2 big tackles.

BALTIMORE, MD - The Panthers travelled up I-95 to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The Panthers came in looking to keep pace with division leading Tampa, while the Ravens looked to maintain their lead in the AFC north. The Panthers scored first in a cold M&T Bank Stadium. After the Panthers recovered two of their own fumbles, Earnest Graham capped off a long drive right before the end of the 1st quarter. The Ravens looked to answer twice in the second half but were plauged by drops and an interception. Flacco had a rough outing after several brilliant performances. The Ravens caught a huge break on the last play of the first half. Vince Young dropped to pass and was intercepted by Fabian Washington. As Washington blazed down the sideline, only Young had an angle. The two met at the goalline but Washington was in to tie the game.

The Ravens opened up another good drive by running Rice and Nieves. They caught another huge break in the middle of the 3rd. Webb blasted the Panther punt returner and forced a fumble. Rookie Rakeem Jordan scooped the ball and scored giving the Ravens a lead. Vince Young looked to fight back but was intercepted by Fabian Washington. Ray Rice led a drive to the redzone and Devan Nieves capped it with a 3 yard burst. The Panthers would try moving the ball on several drives but would be denied, including a big stop on 4th and 1 by Antwan Barnes. It wasn't pretty, but the Ravens held on for a 21-7 win.

    GG Gotham

    Rice / Nieves - 29 carries, 114 yds, TD
    Williams / Graham - 20 carries, 65 yds, TD

    Vikings 37 Dolphins 14

The Minnesota Vikings continued their month long run of solid play controlling all aspects of the game on the way to a 37-14 victory against the Miami Dolphins.

The Vikings defense brought the pain Sunday, knocking Ronnie Brown out for the remainder of the regular season, and sending multiple Dolphins out for stretches during the game including Chad Henne and Tedd Ginn. To add insult to injury the Vikings defense added 8 turnovers on the day, including 7 Henne INTs.

Offensively the Vikes were somewhat limited against a tough Dolphin defense. Unfortunately, the turnovers kept the Phins D on the field for far too long, resulting in short fields and sometimes easy points for the Vikes. Brady Quinn had an uneven day, completing only 9 of 24 passes for just under 200 yards on the day. On a positive note 3 of those completions went for scores to Percy Harvin.

Another solid day for Peterson who had to earn every one of his 104 yards against a stingy Dolphin front 7.

Coach Willis seemed relieved to have the victory after the game saying, "Defensively I couldn't be happier. The only scores we allowed were a punt return for a score and unfortunately another Quinn pass returned for a TD. But Quinn has GOT to play better. He missed some open guys, and I think the Dolphins could have had 3 or 4 more INTs of their own. They clearly had our passing game confused. We will have to get that figured out before next weeks matchup against da Bears."

GG Junior. Tough to lose Brown so early in the game. Your D played good and it could have been a much closer game if some of those passes Quinn threw right to your guys were caught! Good luck the rest of the way!

    Game Notes:
Harvin finished with 4 catches for 150 yards and 3 TDs.
Nnamdi Asomugha and Ray Edwards finished with 2 INTs a piece.
Rookie Adam Story added 2 picks and a FF.

    Rams(56) @ Buccaneers(15)

The rams stayed undefeated as the handled the bucs quite easily in Tampa Bay in their week 13 showdown. Already clinching a playoff spot, coach ox was worried about coming out flat and injuries to key players. It was 35 to nothing before the buc scored their first TD from a 105yd kickoff return by speedy Dexter Jackson. The Ram's Defensive line as amazing as they forced 8 sacks and team forced 4 turnovers. It seemed that on every bucs passing play, Freeman was getting rocked, and he never seemed to get comfortable getting chased around the field. DE. C. Long had a career day with 4 sacks along with 6 tackles.

    Players of the game:
    S. Jackson- 22att 156yds 3TD
    D. Avery- 2rec 70yds 2TD, 1 kickoff return TD

Hey JC, i got pretty lucky on some of the plays that got me up so quick. The last avery TD catch was BS how he caught it after you tipped it. Sorry for knocking out toliver for the season, i hate when that happens. GL the rest of the season and GL in the playoffs

    Aints 52 Cardinals 45

Saints whopped up on Coach Mac's Cardinals in sooo many ways it wasn't even funny. Coach Mac's soft D again was exposed, and in addition to losing his 7th straight game (coach macs sub games included) he also lost his RB for the game and his rookie TE for the season with a broken femur. Hopefully he won't ever be the same! Unfortunately Matt Ryan made it through the game alive. Can't get em all :(

The Packers beat The Cowboys 34-20.

It was a close game all the way through, but after the opening drive Bomb to Berrian (70 yd TD reception) The Packers made an adjustment and put Woodson on Berrian, it didnt shut him down but it definately slowed him down. The Packers Offense was led by rookie running back LeRon James, with each game this guy keeps getting better and better ( still cant believe i got him at the 16th pick) he rushed for 189 yds on 17 attempts and 2 TD's. Here were his 2 TD rushes.

first early in the game a 65 yd TD run

and then the one that sealed the game and put the Pack up 14 with less then 2 minutes to go.

Lions traveled to a cold New Jersery to take on the Buffalo Bills...The first play on offense QB Matt Stafford hit Calvin Johnson for a 70yd TD and never looked back. Lion's defense forced 5 turnovers and lost 2/3 fumbles themselves. It was cold!!! Lion's 3 rookies MLB/FS/CB all played a soild game. Rookie SS Dunn 2 Int for TD was the player of the game. If you look at the stats Bills and Lions pretty much equal beside the turnovers. GG Bills.

    Wk 14 Texans @ Jags

Normally I would do a good write up but me and Hendrikx played i think 4 or 5 games due to no fault of ours but the glorious EA servers. The first game would have been a great game to do a recap on because both offenses was lighting up the scoreboard but the game crashed in the 3rd qtr and all stats were loss.

Game 5 I think it was, finally held all the way through. Both teams basically got a chance to do a live scout of the other team and both teams made adjustments. The Jags were able to ride the legs of HB MJD and the Texans were carried by WR Boldin. The Jags were able to get more stops and keep the Texans off the field. The defenses stepped up and controlled the offenses some and the game was pretty much even.

The Texans held the lead 7-3 after one quarter but the Jags exploded for 21 points in the 2nd quarter to take a 24-7 halftime lead. The Texans got a TD in the 3rd quarter and held the Jags scoreless to close the gap to 24-14. In the 4th quarter the Texans scored a TD again but the Jags managed to get 2 FGs to make it 30-21. That would be all the scoring and the Jags hold on for the win.

Final score of the game was Texans 21, Jags 30. GG Hendrix and see you in 2 weeks.
