    Week 15 Chiefs 56 Browns 45

Kansas City comes out on top in offensive shootout

Kansas City, Mo. Defense was a word both the Browns and the Chiefs had no problem throwing out of their gameplan in this week's matchup of twp 3-10 teams. Derek Anderson torched the Chiefs secondary, throwing for 461 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, Jamaal Charles was the name of the game for Kansas City, as his entrance into the game in the third quarter provided the spark needed to keep up with the Browns. Charles rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries (all in the second half), including runs of 52 and 49. Earnest Graham added 45 yards and 2 touchdowns as well, both coming inside the 5 yard line. The Chiefs however, have much to worry about in their passing game, where Kerry Collins missed throws all afternoon, and recievers had a total of 4 dropped balls, all but one on passes down the field. Dwayne Bowe was held to 1 catch for 8 yards, and no Chiefs reciever had more than 3 catches.

the Browns were carried mostly on the arm of Anderson, the Chiefs found another scoring option. Both Kevin Robinson and B.J. Sams returned kicks for touchdowns, including Sams return of the second half opening kickoff. Kyle Vanden Bosch and Tyson Jackson led the Chiefs with 7 tackles each, while Abram Elam led the Browns with 5.

While neither team showed they could play consistent defense, it was the Chiefs who found a way to win in the fourth quarter, spurred by two huge runs by Charles. Coach Messiman picked up a win in his first game as head coach of the Chiefs.
