    Week 15

Tennessee hosted the rival division leading Jags this week. The Titans are competing for a division title, but more importantly at this point a playoff berth. Jacksonville came in this week on a 6 game winning streak and wanted to put the ice on the AFC South.

Tennesee came out firing on all cylinders. After forcing an opening drive punt the Titans drove down and put 3 on the board. On the next Jags posession Tennessee drilled Kelly James forcing a fumble which was taken back for the DTD. 10-0

In the second quarter the Titans kept the momentum of the first quarter. Besides the int return the Jags had midway through the quarter Tennesse dominated the half. 31-7 at the half.

Tennesse put up 10 more points in the 3rd quarter while shutting down the Jags offense through 3. 41-7 going to the fourth quarter and the Titans wound up with a 41-21 final.

GG to Lou and for the record this game was full of little madden surprises for him(mainly untimely fumbles).

Coach Hoytpower subbed in as the interim coach for the New Orleans Saints.

With their season on the line, the Carolina Panthers needed to play inspired football. They barely managed to scrape together a decent series in the first quarter, as the Saints would control the ball and dominate the scoreboard 7-0 after a great coaching call, and a 9 yard touchdown by Jeremy Shockey.

Things wouldn't get much better for the visiting Panthers, as they would settle for a pair of field goals in the second half, facing a 7-6 deficit going into halftime.

There must've been something in the water during the break because the Panthers Y. Figurs returned the kickoff 108yds for a touchdown. Then following a Saints punt, DeAngelo Williams would go relatively untouched for an 83 yard touchdown. The Saints would have to punt again, and this time Y. Figurs took the return 84 yards to the house. It was a 20 point 3rd quarter, and while Hoyt tried to ignite the offense in hurry-up mode, the Panthers still go on to win 33-14.

    Thanks for subbing sir, GG.

    Browns 3 @ Dolphins 32

Miami would host the Cleveland Browns @ Landshark Stadium for its week 15 matchup.

The Brows would receive the ball first and on its first drive of the game QB Anderson who got the starting nod in this game would get picked off by Gibril Wilson at midfield and he would make his way 50+ yards for the first score of the game giving the Dolphins a 7-0 Lead.

The Brows would get another chance to move the chains early in the 1st and the Browns decided to switch QB's and out went Anderson and in came Culpepper. The brows would run a few run plays and execute some nice passes over the middle to pick up 2 first downs but on the next set of downs QB Culpepper would throw into coverage and backup safety Ginardo would pick off C-Pep and return it 30 yards for another defensive TD giving miami a 14-0 lead and yet the Phins offense had yet to take the field.

The Browns would get the chains moving again and Culpepper would hit Edwards over the middle deep to get the Browns into dolphins territory. After gaining some momentum on the offensive side the Dolphins defense stepped up and would force the Browns into a FG situation from about 39 yards out and unfortunately the Browns kicker was unable to execute and Miami would take over on downs at its own 33 heading into the 2nd half.

Miami's offense would finally take the field and the running game would start to form as Ricky Williams was filling in for an injured Ronnie Brown. Williams would execute a few inside and outside runs for marginal gain and miami was facing a 3rd a long near midfield and Henne would connect with a wideopen Ginn over the middle to move the chains into Browns territory. Miami's offense would go back to the running game and Ricky WIlliams would move the chains two more times and Miami was in the Browns Redzone. After watching Miami moving the chains and penetrating deep into its own territory the Browns offense would force miami to bring out its FG unit on 4th down and Miami would execute and head into the half with a 17-0 lead.

In the 3rd quarter miami would get the ball first and again the Running game seemed to be the strong point for this drive as Williams would pick up huge chunks of yardage and Miami would find themselves deep into browns territory again. With the ball lying on the 32 yard line Miami would go to the air on 2nd down and Henne would find a wideopen Hartline at the 12 yardline and he would sprint into the endzone untouched and upping its lead 24-0.

The Brows offense would finally get going late in the 3rd and they would find themselves at the Phins 5 yard line but Miami's defense got stingy and kept the Browns out of the endzone and forced a FG try that was succesfull and the Browns were finally on the board 24-3.

Miamis offense would only put up 6 more points early in the 4th thanks to the foot of Dan Carpenter and the ground game.

Clevelands offense would end up turning the ball over 2 more times as Miami's punter would backup the Browns at its own 2 yard line and on the very first play of offense for the Browns Culpepper would be sacked for 2 points. After Miami received the punt and being forced to punt once again CB Smith would put the final nail in the coffin as Culpepper was picked off for the 2nd time of the day and Miami's offense would run out the clock.

GG M-Trashy, Madden gods were definitely enjoying the weather in Miami. GL the rest of the year.

The Packers beat The Redskins 34-7 as the back move to 11-3 on the season.
The Redskins defense started off playing well causing 2 Rodgers INT's in the first 2 drives, but the Skins offense never really got it going. A couple of big plays on offense and defense led to Packer TD's and the game was well in hand at halftime as Green Bay led 28-0.

    Rodgers was 6-10 ffor 185 yds 2 TD's and 2 INT's
LeRon James had 22 carries for 158 yds and 1 TD
Greg Jennings had 3 catches for 87 yds and 2 TD's

    Vikings 38 Bears 20

Adrian Peterson would take put the Vikings on his back leading them to a 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears. Peterson would finish with over 200 yards and 3 TDs on just 12 carries, including 2 70+ yard runs on the day.

The Bears would put up a good fight led by rookie Jack English who threw for nearly 400 yards despite not having injured star TE Greg Olsen or their main weapon on the ground Matt Forte who also missed another game with injury.

    GG Scar. Always fun.

    Notes:
Vikes and Bears game on Monday night froze up due to the replay challenge bug with the Bears potentially up 17-7 early in 1st Qtr. In our 2nd matchup Scar could've challenged a play late in the game - a "catch" (it wasn't :) ) by a Bear receiver was ruled incomplete OOB - but didn't in part because the game was pretty much decided and we didn't want to risk another disconnect. Classy move on Scar's part.

Hillis Runs Over A House Of Cards

Denver: Peyton Hillis moved into the starting HB role and gashed the visiting Cardinals for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Denver improved to 11-3 with a 38-18 victory.

Wind and near freezing conditions played a major role in the games slow start as both kickers missed opening field goals and a late 76 yard touchdown run by Hillis gave Denver a slim 13-7 lead at the break.

Matt Ryan sturggled on the road and threw 5 interceptions as the Denver defense attacked the football and caused Ryan to throw under stress. Despite the turnovers Arizona was able to keep the game within reach heading into the second half thanks in large part to their defense.

Ryan threw his second pick to start the thrid quarter and Denver moved down the field, scored on a short scamper from newly added FB D. Barnes and after a two point conversion lead 21-10.

Arizona got their ground game rolling and opened the fourth with another Middlebrook touchdown as the rookie started to move the pile and break countless tackles.

With the scored 21-18 Denver took the ball deep in their own end and on first down Matt Cassel read the all out Card blitz, found Eddie Royal wide open and the leading Bronco reciever took it 71 yards to restore a 10 point lead.

Matt Rayn threw another pick and Hillis punched in his second major of the game to put things out of reach. Arizona didn't roll over however, still using time outs and trying to push the ball deep against the Bronco's, but Ryan threw his 5th INT of the game and Denver ate up the clock to preserve the win.

The win moves Denver into top spot in the AFC and a first round bye while the loss puts the Cardinals playoff picture out of focus. Denver tallied 645 total yards in the win and held the ball for 21:48 minutes. In the battle of "traded" Matt's, Cassel finished with a passer rating of 113.8 to Ryan's 10.6

    Notes

    Cassel 21/31 331 1TD 0INT
    Ryan 10/29 135 0TD 5INT

    Hillis 17/145 2 TD
    Middlebrook 18/92 2TD

    Royal 7/160 1TD
    Jones 3/57

    Bailey 2T 2INT
    Jackson 5T 1S 2TFL

ATLANTA, GA - The Ravens met up with the Dirty Birds in the Georgia Dome and left with a 24-13 win. As the Raven offense got off to a slow start, Ray Lewis intercepted a Kurt Warner pass to put B'more in good field position. Flacco led a drive to the redzone but it stalled out, leading to a Hauschka FG. Midway through the 2nd quarter, Atlanta answered. Jerrious Norwood busted a 57 yard run to set up a FG from Elam. The Ravens went to their one-two punch on the ground. Ray Rice led most of the drive, but Devan Nieves finished it with a nifty 24 yard run keyed by smooth blocking. Atlanta was left with enough time but were faced with a 4th and 10 with under :10 left. Coach Rich went for it and Warner converted it on a pass to set Elam's 2nd FG up as the 2nd half ran out. 10-6 Ravens.

The Ravens and Falcons exchanged punts to start off the 2nd half. Baltimore got on the board again midway through the 3rd. Ray Rice took a short flip on a circle route, avoided a defender and then got a downfield block from Donald Driver (which was nearly a block in the back). Rice raced for a 58 yard score extending the lead to 17-6. The Ravens would put another drive together with Rice and Nieves, but this time Rice capped it with a short TD run. Atlanta got another TD on the board late as Norwood fumbled the ball into the endzone. The players piled on top of it, and it was determined a Falcon recovered for a TD. That would end the scoring as Ed Reed gathered an INT to close out the game.

    GG Rich

    Rice / Nieves - 23 car, 133 yds, 2 TDs - 2 rec, 74 yds, TD
    Warner - 14-36, 191 yds, 2 INT

The Cowboys traveled to Philly in week 15 to play the hated Eagles. Romo and the Boys would start off big since they got the ball first. On the very first play of the game for the offense Romo would go play action and hit Wr Ogletree on a post pattern over the middle for a 68 yd Td pass to give the Boys a quick 7-0 lead. The Eagles would answer back on their ensuing possesion that would take 15 plays and the rest of the 1st qtr and 3 secs of the 2nd qtr that would end in a Westbrook 2 yd Td run to tie the game up at seven. After a Romo interception the Eagles started to drive again but Westbrook who was trying to get outside on a running play would get blasted by Cowboys Ss Hamlin which would jar the ball loose and Ware would snatch the ball up and sprint untouched 40 yds for the Td . The Cowboys would put another Td on the board when Romo would hit Berrian on a slant for a 18 yd Td pass to give the Cowboys a 21-7 lead with 1:14 left in the first half. The Eagles would try to get back on the scoreboard before halftime but Cowboys backup Cb Knapp would pick Mcnabb off and go in for a 48 yd pick six to give the Cowboys another Td and increase their lead to 28-7 at halftime. In the 2nd half the Eagles would get the ball first and look to get back into the game as they went down the field and score a Td on a 12 yd pass to Maclin from Mcnabb. That would pull the Eagles within fourteen points but that would be as close as they would get. The Cowboys would put the final nail in coffin late in the third with a 17 yd Td run by Barber. That would be th elast score of the game as the Cowboys hold on for a 35-14 win in Philly.
