Kansas City, MO - The Colts (7-7) traveled to Kansas City in week 16 to take on the always tough Chiefs (7-7). Both teams were fighting for their playoff lives and it showed. Both defenses started strong as the teams would exchange field goals in the first quarter and remained tied, 3-3, for a majority of the first half. Joe Lefeged returned an INT 80 yards for a TD in the final seconds of the second quarter to give the Colts a modest 10-3 lead at the half. The Chiefs made every effort to regain momentum in the second half, but the lack an effective running game from Charles was detrimental to their offense. It was the Colts offense that finished things off in the fourth quarter as Ballard punched it in from one yard out to give the Colts a commanding 17-3 lead with just over one minute remaining in the game. The Chiefs mustered a TD of their own in the final moments, but it was too little, too late as the Colts came away with the win, 17-10. The loss puts the Chiefs on the outside looking in for a Wild Card berth. The win puts the Colts in a tie for the AFC South with the Titans who square off for the division title in week 17!

Good game Dave. Always a great chess match with you! Foolish mistakes by both of us. Could have been anybody's ball game. I look forward to our next go around.
