Jags Get Revenge In Crucial Shutout Victory

The Jags traveled to Nashville this week to take on the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans. This is a rematch from week 1 of the season when the Titans marched into Jacksonville and torched their defense for 41 points. Chris Johnson had over 300 yards of offense in that game. In week 16, the Jags focused all week on 1 thing. Stop Chris Johnson. If Hasselbeck beats us, then so be it but Chris Johnson will not.

That mission was accomplished big time. Chris Johnson still managed to get over 100 total yards but the Titans was completely shut down in this game. It wasn't even a contest. Hasselbeck connected on some long passes to Kenny Britt and Chris Johnson but was otherwise shut down and hurried all game.

Meanwhile, the Jags offense could do little wrong. Gabbert was efficient and accurate and MJD was unstoppable getting 10 yards per carry. The Jags would score on all but 2 possessions and that includes their final possession where they ended up kneeling inside of the Titans' 10 yard line. One important note from this game is that Jacksonville's lead WR, Mike Thomas, was injured in the 3rd quarter and won't make it back until the Super Bowl...should the Jags actually make it that far.

Upcoming: The Jags finish their regular season at home against the Colts. The Colts beat the Jags earlier in the season in overtime so it should be a good game that Jacksonville must win to have a shot at the playoffs.
