    Niners Prevail in OT
    defeat Cardinals 23-17

The San Francisco 49ers won the NFC West title with a hard-fought victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Niners appeared to be on their way to a blow-out victory after scoring 14 quick points in the opening quarter, highlighted a couple of long catch-and-runs by TE Vernon Davis. However, the Cardinals began to control the game offensively as their defense stiffened, eventually tying the game with a mere three seconds left before halftime.

Neither team would do much offensively for the remainder of the game as the defenses settled in. The Cardinals would eventually take a three point lead with under two minutes in the game, leaving San Francisco with no timeouts. The 49ers would reach the Arizona redzone, and after a few shots into the end zone, kicked a field goal to send the game to overtime.

The overtime period was just as intense as Arizona crept into 49ers territory, however, an dropped pass on third down gave the 49ers the opportunity to win the game outright. Much like the game began, it ended. Davis would catch a curl route and evadehis man before running untouched 68 yards for the touchdown.

gtstang86, Good game. The difference was Vernon Davis. He just went crazy today. That first play were he broke like 3/4 tackles pretty much set the tone for his day.
