It was a game that would determine the 2014 NFC South Champion. The surging Tampa Bay Bucs would host the injury plagued New Orleans Saints. To Tampa we go: The Bucs would start this game as clearly the dominant team. They held the Saints to a quick 3 and out to open the game and would get their offense started in a hurry. QB Mike Glennon would lead his team down the field deep into Saints territory. Doug Martin finished the Bucs opening drive off rushing into the end zone for an early 7-0 lead. The Bucs would dominate the rest of the half and take a 13-7 lead into the break. In the second half, the Saints really showed up. Their defense forced Glennon into two INT's while holding the Bucs offense scoreless. The Saints offense would get the ball with just over 8 minutes to play in the 4th quarter. Matt Cassel, who the team signed earlier in the week due to Brian Hoyer's lack of confidence, would put together an epic drive. The team faced multiple 3rd downs on the drive and converted every single one. The key play, however; came with under a minute and a half to play at the Bucs 45 yard line. It was 4th and 1 and the Saints offense stayed on the field. With the clock running, FB Eric Lorig would pick up the first and keep the drive alive. The Saints would make it to the Bucs 25 yard line with the clock running and 25 seconds left. Thinking the Saints would play for the FG, the Bucs would send the house on a blitz. Cassel, however; dropped back and hit TE Benjamin Watson on a short crossing route and he did he rest. Twenty five yards later the Saints were looking like NFC South champs with a 20-13 lead. Glennon would attempt a mid-range hail mary which would be picked off by Champ Bailey and returned for a TD. The Saints won the game 27-13 in a hard fought battle and are your 2014 NFC South Champions!! GG Jeremy . Instant classic bruh. Hope to see you in the playoffs and GL!
