The Tigers have come to reply on a moblie QB over the last few years with Frazier and with his departure we are looking to someone who is going to come in in fill his HUGE shoes. We decided to give the speedy Hawkins the start in the 1st game of the year, he did ok but threw 3 ints, not all his fault because he was throwing into coverage. Other than that he did good. After the 1st game we are probly going to more of a 2 QB system. Mason shined in week 1

    Longhorns Cruise to Easy W
New Faces Lead Texas to 66-0 Victory Over UNLV
The Texas Longhorns had some question marks coming into this year with both QB David Ash and HB Malcolm Brown leaving after 3 years of leading this program. Those questions were answered emphatically as QB Connor Brewer and HB Johnathan Gray propelled the Longhorns to a 42-0 halftime lead. On the first play from scrimmage, Gray took a screen pass from Brewer 69 yards for a touchdown. Gray managed 128 yards on 19 carries with 2 touchdowns on the ground as well, while Brewer finished 7 of 9 for 232 and 3 touchdowns. All that production came in just the first half, as the Horns took advantage of the big lead to get the second string offense and defense some playing time in the second half. Texas used the fourth quarter to get some third string skill position players some work as well. The defense played well all game too as they forced 4 interceptions, two of which were returned for scores. New starting CB Dustin Fagan looks to be a true shut-down corner as he has receiver type ball skills to go with his amazing coverage skills.
Next week, Texas travels to Morgantown, WV for this year's Big 12 opener. WR Jordan Yates suffered a bruised shoulder this week, but is expected to be 100 percent for next week.

Are you saving highlights after the game, that the cpu took? If so stop doing that because it will either freeze your game after you click "yes" or when you get back to the dynasty hub.

Wisconsin overcomes a slow start to top Wolf Pack 21-17

The badgers kicked off the year in a poor fashion, it took 2 takaways by the defense to solidify the win for the badgers. Bart Houston went 13/16 for 249 and 3 TDs, Houston made some key throws all game including a 63 bomb to RS SO Adam Sherman to get the Badgers on the board right before halftime. Melvin Gordon had a lack luster performance gaining 91 Yds on 25 attempts. The Offensive Line has a lot of work to do this week leading up the Badgers matchup against Notre Dame, they allowed 4 sacks and could not open up any running lanes for Gordon (long of 12 Yds and 47 of 91 Yds came after contact).

On a side note NC State is either legit or EA decided they were going to attempt to beat me with whichever team it choose. I had zero running room and no pass blocking, I had D-Linemen chasing my HB down from behind and my 96 spd FS couldn't keep up with their TE in coverage.......

Good stuff. Try to spread the ball around more next time. 35 carries is A LOT of carries and 5 TD's is a lot too

    NU vs ND!
The Irish kicked off their home opener with a rivalry that was first played in 1915 as they hosted the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Notre Dame started the game well trotting out to an early 10-0 lead. But the tables turned in the second quarter. The Huskers pesky dual threat QB frustrated the Irish defense for much of the game. He would either complete a key pass or scramble for positive yardage despite having a spy on him most of the game. The ND offense didn't help matter any either. Everett Golson threw a costly pick midway through the second quarter giving Nebraska a short field which they capitalized on for a touchdown. The very next passing attempt by Golson on the ensuing possesion was another pick which NU turned into another TD. A 10-0 lead quickly turned into a 24-10 hole. Coach HipHopp did his best to rally his players after this. "Keep Calm and Carry On" he told them. The Irish offense took the field with just under 3 minutes left in the half and methodically drove the ball down the field. The first play of this drive was a run, just to make sure it wouldn't be 3 straight picks. With under one minute remaining in the first the Husker lead was trimmed to 24-17 and the defense looked to shut it down going into the half. Well NU, and their elusive QB had something else in mind. Nebraska worked the ball down the field in big chunks. With just a few seconds left in the half the Notre Dame secondary stiffened enough for the defensive line to get some pressure and with a big hit on the QB, the ball popped loose. Instead of a turnover to ice the half, a Nebraska offensive lineman picked up the ball and rumbled forward to stay in field goal range with just a few ticks on the clock and Nebraska called their 3rd timeout. The field goal attempt sailed through the uprights to make it a 27-17 halftime lead for the Bugeaters.

There were reports of many non-Christian words being yelled in the Notre Dame locker room during half time. The Irish responded by taking the 2nd half kickoff and driving down for a big passing touchdown to pull within 3. They weren't done either, as they scored yet another touchdown through the air to retake the lead going into the 4th quarter. Well, the Notre Dame defense decided they weren't going to even let the Huskers sniff the endzone in the second half. They shut down Nebraska, allowing the Notre Dame offense to chew up the clock on the ground and get two rushing TDs in the 4th, the last of which was scored by the backups.

A stellar second half effort by the defense combined with a much more consistent attack on offense turned a first half deficit into a convincing 45-27 win. Golson, who looked so bad in the second quarter ended up being the player of the game offensively by staying within himself, completing key passes, and churning out tough yards on the ground to help keep the Irish runnign game going in the second half.

BTW, they did wear helmets this time around.

The Gators came out strong in their first game since winning the National Championship last year. There has been big changes in the Swamp starting with new QB James Tanner a Redshirt sophomore did ok in his first start going 15/26 for 261yds 2td. He would end up running to much and get put out the game with a concussion in the 3rd quarter. Tommy White the Redshirt Sophmore beat out RB James lewis in the spring to get the nod to start and rushed for 164 yds on 26 carries. Mstate lead by QB D.Prescott had a ok game but ended up throwing 2 ints. Rb D.Milton kept the Bulldogs in the game by rushing for 129Yds on 16 carries. The florida defense which is young with only 1 senior needs to gaim experience and get better fast. Texas A&M will be traveling to the swamp next week which should be a good game.
