Double H was working 7-7 so I'd imagine he'll play when he gets home.

I've about had enough of these 12 hour early "Week __" threads...make the thread title "can we advance" or something like that, cockteasers.

Let's just leave the title as is. It'd be even gayer to have a 'week 2 2016' and a 'week 2 2016 (no really)'

    Arkansas St. - 10
    Mississippi - 7

The Red Wolves get off to a 2-0 start to the season with a hard fought win over the Rebels of Mississippi. This was a pound it out type game, as my quarterback didn't play over well, going 7/15 for 81 yards and an INT. But he contributed to the run game with 4 carries for 42 yards, and HB Boo Skidoo had 26 carries for 217 yards to lead the way for Arkansas State. We got down to the Ole Miss one in the 1st quarter but failed to stick it in on 4th down, then settled for a FG late in the 2nd quarter before surrendering a quick touchdown drive to end the half to Ole Miss. Luckily we were able to get down in the red zone again, but once again failed on 4th and inches, getting stuffed on a FB dive. After stopping Ole Miss, we got the ball back in the 4th and immediately got in the red zone on a big run by Skidoo. Once again, though, we got to 4th and inches, electing to go with the FB Dive yet again on the Rebel 6 yard line. This time it worked, to the tune of a TD rush by FB Brandon Sowell, giving us the 10-7 lead. Ole Miss would put together a late drive, but fumbled away their chance at a win or tie and let us escape with the victory.

Utah State falls to #1 Alabama; 23-20

Alabama had 2 big plays that accounted for most of their scoring. A 28 yard INT return to start the game in which the ball bounced off the players shoulder pad into the air and got picked. Then we traded FGs before a USU TD pass would tie it at 10-10 at the half. Then on the opening drive of the 3rd Alabama ran a read option that went 66 yards for a TD. USU answered on the following drive to tie it 17-17. In the 4th quarter once again the teams traded field goals. With 1:22 remaining, Bama kicked a field goal to take a 3 pt lead. The Aggies had 4th and 10 37 yard line and failed to convert, but a Pass Interference call gave the Aggies a second chance. Utah State got the ball down to the 35 with 50 seconds remaining when A Bama LB caught up to an underthrown pass to make the INT and end the game. POTG went to BAMA runningback Johnny Clarck who ran 30 times for 190 yards and a TD and 1 fumble. Bama shut down the Aggie rushing attack, holding RB Billy McClain to just 31 yards on 13 carries. Relying on the passing game, QB Brewster threw 43 times, completing 22 of them for 342 yards and a TD, with 3 INTs.

    WKU-34

I officially out-slidered myself in this game.

Late in the game, Corey Douglas punched in a TD on 2nd and goal from the 1 but it got called back for a 2nd and 11 and I had to eventually settle for a FG. That's 4 points.

Oregon hit FGs of 37, 40 and a 41 yarder while iced as time expired to seal the game. That doesn't happen if I don't bump the CPU's kicking ability. That's how it should be, I'm just saying I don't lose this game with last year's sliders for sure.

At one point in the 4th, UO had a 1 point lead but I was driving with 3:30 left in the game and I planned on using clock and scoring late. Well my line decided not to block and I had to scramble with EJ Hayden's 80 speed. I just pass the LOS and the defender is closing fast so I hit X to slide. Hayden lobs the ball in the air as if I was throwing at the X receiver and the defender makes the easy 72 yard INT return.

These types of losses will always keep me at :4stars: prestige where I belong (well, these types of losses and having to play legit divisional competition).
