First of all shoutout to the guy's that put up some great content in the offseason and in week 1. Lets continue that effort, and expand on it, as we move through Season 5. This week should be a great one, with some important games in the Big Ten. First, Notre Dame and Wisconsin will look to separate themselves and determine who will be a legitimate contender for the national title. Then, Ohio State hosts Georgia in a non-conference showdown.

The Oklahoma Sooners opened the 2016 with a huge win at home against Syracuse. After a slow start due to an attempt to get the run game going, Oklahoma eventually opened up the offense and took off from there. There was a lot of controversy over last year's Hesiman Finalist Early King switching over to wide receiver, but he proved his nay sayers wrong by posting 275 yds and 3 tds. Trevor Knight did show preference to King, but also had a fantastic day in the air compiling 424 yds and 5 tds. Head coach for Oklahoma said this of today's aerial attack: "We realize that in today's game, Early was the focal point of the offense and he certainly answered the call. That being said, we are also aware that these kind of video game numbers cannot be expected from the kid all year, and we look forward to more distribution among our receivers and tight ends." The impressive effort was not all thanks to the Sooner offense, as the defense held constant pressure on Syracuse's quarterback that resulted in six sacks and four interceptions. They were gashed by Syracuse running back Montrell Dobbs, but that appeared to be the result of the defensive packages rather than the personnel. Needless to say, Oklahoma started off the season on the right foot, and are looking forward to next week's game.

    Iowa Wins CYHawk Trophy
The Iowa Hawkeyes hosted the Iowa State Cyclones this afternoon. On the first play of the game IAST would pick off Alex Hill and take it to the house to go up 7-0. Freshman Darrell Robinson would go 2 yards to score to tie the game at 7. State would score another 7 points to make it a 14-7 lead. But Iowa's Robinson ( 2 yard) and wide out J.J. Johnson (1 yard) would score touchdowns to make it 21-14 going into halftime. Iowa would be the only team to score in the 3rd quarter. That's from a Hill pass to Leon Kent for 6 yard touchdown. Iowa State would score 14 points to start the 4th and final quarter. Jim Pittman would score a 7 yard touchdown from J.J. Johnson. The score would be 35-28 Iowa lead till Iowa State would score again to make it tied at 35. Greg Mabin would score on a 85 yard touchdown from Hill, to seal the game for the Hawkeyes.

    Instant Classic in Columbus
Ray Hall and his senior class have experienced some incredible highs and devastating lows in their careers at Ohio State. The highs have been plentiful. Three Big Ten titles, five wins against Michigan, two against Wisconsin, several statement out of conference victories. Missing from that list is a national title, the unforgettable devastating low.
In each of the past three years the Buckeyes were inches, seconds, moments away from a national title, or a from getting to the title game itself. It looked like that would be the case again in just the second week of the season, as the Buckeye's prospects of a perfect season seemed to flash before their eyes.
But in his final season as a Buckeye Hall seems set to accomplish the mission he and Coach Urban Meyer departed on four years ago. Bring a national championship to Columbus. The Buckeyes moved one step closer to achieving that goal on Saturday.
It was a back and forth game between No.2 OSU and No.12 Georgia, as Jalen Bush and Lance Jenkins traded punches in the form of touchdown passes. With less than a minute left, Bush led the Buckeyes down to the 5-yard line. But Meyer elected to play conservatively, and the Buckeyes settled for a field goal to tie the game at 31.
Georgia's approach was far from conservative on the ensuing drive, despite having less than a minute left in the game. The Bulldogs went three-and-out giving OSU one last hope.
OSU might have taken a knee into overtime, but Hall returned the kick 15 yards to the OSU 40, and Meyer decided to take a gamble with 8 second left. Perhaps Georgia thought OSU would attempt a short pass to setup a more manageable Hail Mary, as they didn't really play a prevent defense. Hall got behind the defense on a wheel route, as the safety jumped on Jovon Harris' curl. Bush lofted the ball to Hall, who raced toward the endzone and fought through two defenders, falling into the endzone for the game-winning touchdown.
It was a truly remarkable play, and possibly a Heisman moment for the senior receiver from Gross Pt. Farms, Mi. We wait to see what he does for an encore next weekend at No.4 Notre Dame.

Auburn is on a bye week & working on recruiting.. Sr RB Robinson a 97 overall vows to get more involved in the offense. Coach Chizik says: "he's a big back at 230 with nice speed, we will get him going this year and when we do the nation will notice"
