    Week 2: Bucs(20) Lions (27)

Was a low scoring affair as both teams tried to milk the clock throughout the game. In the end it was a lob by Ben Roethlisberger that changed the outlook of the game. Big Ben tried to hit a receiver along the side line when Detroit's strong safety jumped up and snagged it out of the air to give the Lions a chance to pull ahead. After a big score by the Lions the score was 27-17 with 2:30 to go. The Bucs tacked on a field goal, but could not get the onside kick back with 1:30 to go. Stafford and the Lions ran the clock out to seal up the victory and give the Lions a 2-0 start.
