    Week 2: Colorado @ Toledo

Following a big win and a huge game vs. Ohio State looming people expected the Rocets to lose sight of the Buffaloes. As the game got started the the Rockets looked to fall into that trap. 2 fumbles and a couple of drops led to an early 10-3 lead for Colorado. Aaron Opelt decided to have a game to remember after that though, he threw his first TD pass shortly after, a Dejuane Collins TD run, to make the lead 17-10. Darel Scott of Colorado was not to be outdone as he took the ball in from 35 yards out. With what should have tied the game but a missed extra point left us with a 17-16 Rocket lead at the half.

Defensive miscues throughout the third quarter left us with a 29-26 lead for Colorado. However, the Rockets had been setting up the Buffaloes for some big plays and Cortazzo delivered with a 57 yard TD on the play action, and in an attempt to run the clock on 3 and 5 Opelt looked for the safe pass to FB Darius Reeves and he broke the little out for 46 yards and the score. The Buffaloes looked to be all but finished with a minute and a half left, Darell Scott was not finished yeat he broke another huge run this time from 57 out on 4th and 1 to make it 40-35. He then ran in the toss for the 2 point conversion making it a FG game for Colorado. However he was not on the field to recover the onside quick which Toledo was able to do and line up in the victory formation for the win. 40-37 Toledo defeats Colorado
