Week 2- Duke 24 v Wake Forest 21 In a game that Wake Forest out gained their opponent by almost 150 yards, Duke found a way to come through to pull off the close victory. Each team scored a rushing touchdown on their opening drives. The next score was from Duke, kicking a 43 yard field goal at the beginning of the second quarter. The next score was by the star running back for the Demon Decans, Brandon Pendergrass. Duke was beginning to sweat because Wake was moving the ball pretty easily on them. And though at this point in the game it was looking like momentum was moving in Wake's directions, turnovers caused the game to take a different turn. After a interception on the goal line by the star free safety of the Blue Devils, quarterback Sean Renfee took the ball 74 yards for a TD on a called quarterback off tackle run. Later in the final quarter duke also added another TD to go up 10. Wake scored a TD with less than 30 seconds to go but failed to get the onside kick and the game ended 24 to 21 in favor of Duke. Both teams played a great game but 3 interceptions and a fumble by Wake turned out to be the deciding factor. Matt Daniels was name played of the game with 2 picks, a forced fumble and 3 tackles.
