Tiki Barber Dominates In Return to NFL The Jaguars traveled to New York this week when a big story line developed. It had been ruled that star RB Maurice Jones-Drew would be out for over the half the season. With just 2 RBs left on their roster, the Jaguars opted to give ex-Giant great, Tiki Barber, a shot at the comeback he had desired. It turned out to be a great move as Tiki would be nearly unstoppable in his return to the NFL and the Meadowlands(...sort of) when the Jags took on the Jets(0-1). The game started off well immediately for the Jags as Mike Thomas returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a TD and a quick 7-0 lead. The Jets were quick to respond though as Dustin Keller would beat the Jaguars secondary and go 84 yards for a TD and tie ballgame. It turned into a tough defensive ball game for the rest of the 1st half. Good defense and turnovers were rampant. The Jaguars were able to move a little better though and would add a FG in the 1st quarter and score on a pass to Zach Miller in the flats that would for a 33 yard TD just 2 minutes before the half. It would be just a 17-7 game at halftime. It became a one-sided affair in the 2nd half though as the Jags took control. On the Jets first possession of the half, Mark Sanchez would get sacked and fumble the ball. Paul Posluszny would pick it up and run 47 yards for a TD and a 24-7 lead. The Jets would get the ball around midfield on their next possession but would opt to punt when faced with a 4th and long. Tiki Barber would strike quickly though as he took the very next play 88 yards for his first TD as a Jaguar. It was now 31-7. The Jets would go 3-n-Out on their next possession and the Jags would start to get into a lead conservation mode. That wouldn't work too well though as Rashad Jennings would find a hole and run for a 39 yard TD just a few plays later making it 38-7. Faced with a large deficit, the Jets tried to comeback through the air but couldn't do much and the Jags would add another FG in the 4th quarter while just trying to run down the clock. The game would end 41-7. Key Individual Stats: QBJax: L. McCown - 10/25 - 121 Yards - 1 TD - 3 INTsNYJ: M. Sanchez - 11/29 - 192 Yards - 1 TD - 1 INT RBJax: T.
