Week 2 Results Pitt finds its way to another hot start. Forcing an interception that led to a 52 yard drive capped by a 7 yd TD pass. The Panthers were not satisfied with a 7-0 lead, Nix picked the next pass and took it to the house for a 14-0 lead. A third interception in the first quarter came from the safety. This interception led to a FG and the panthers were up 17-0. The Bulls needed life and a KR to the 21 yard line gave them hope and a corner route to the slot gave them their first score of the game. 17-7 made the bulls feel confident until Cameron Saddler one upped the first return and put six on the board himself. Due to lack of focus though the XP was missed. 23-7 Panther lead that would end the first quarter. Momentum swung to the home team in the second quarter. They scored a FG and a Missed tackle by a safety led to a TD. The score was 23-17 like that. With 2 minutes to go Bostick led a quick and efficient drive to extend the lead to 30-17 to go into the half. Solid passing and stout defense gave Pitt the 37-17 lead going into the 4th quarter. They hope to run down the clock but the run game has been nonexistent for them. A 4 minute drive to start the 4th quarter leads to a FG and a 40-17 lead for Pitt with 2:20 to go in the game. Another corner route to burn the safety, made it 40-25 with a 2 Pt conversion. Pitt recovered the onside kick. 3 consecutive first down runs from Justin Douglas burned the defensive timeouts and loecked up the game for the Panthers though. Douglas came up huge running the ball and the clock in the 4th quarter. The 32 carries for 161 yards about half came in the 4th quarter. The Panthers need to work out some kinks on offense and find ways to avoid giving up big plays and they will find themselves in the top 25 in no time at all.
