The scoreboard reflects a game that was swung by one touchdown. Not the case here. USC dominated the first half, jumping out to a 28-0 lead. WSU was able to drive down the field in 26 seconds to get a FG right before the half. The 2nd half was much of the same. USC dominated the clock. Max Browne led the Trojans down the field, only to throw an interception in the red zone. WSU couldn't take advantage of this. USC would add another TD at the beginning of the 4th to extend their lead to 35-3. On a 3rd & 10 C. Halliday threw a 56 yard TD pass to G. Marks. USC recovered the onside kicked and returned it to WSU 30. From here Max Wittek gave the ball to Justin Davis who ran the ball inside WSU's 10. USC used the QB kneel but WSU called a TO. Wittek then tried handing the ball of to Davis, however a botch snap made this impossible. Wittek tried running to the side and sliding in, however he was hit. What resulted was a 98 yard fumble recovery for a TD for D. Horton. The game would end after WSU was unable to recover another onside kick. USC got the win. Max Wittek will stay on the bench from now on.

Washington had a bye. In other news one of the recruits on their board said he liked Washington but they need to show him more for consideration and he locked them out.

Coach Duggan said recruiting will make for a long season.

VT bounces back in a big way crushing Old Dominion 48-17

HB JC Coleman ignited the VT offense with this 63yd run for TD.
The Virgina Tech Hokies dominated in state rival Old Dominion 48-17 giving their fans a much needed win off the heals of their embarrassing week 1 defeat at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide. It was apparent that new Head Coach James Robinson was focused on his team's rushing defense as the Hokies held the Monarchs to only 22 yards on the ground but there is still some work to be done with the defense as the Hokies were torched through the air for 267 yards. Along with the impressive showing by the Tech defense their offense also made a huge leap forward in week 2 as QB Logan Thomas went 11/14 passing with 165 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs. But the biggest story of the game came from HB JC Coleman as his 229 yard 2 TD performance on the ground won him player of the game honors. The Hokies also showed that they can be a threat on special teams as CB Donaldven Manning found the endzone on a 58 yard punt return late in the 4th quarter.

Next week the Hokies travel to Greenville NC to take on the Pirates of East Carolina
