Going to do this different for the remainder of this release.

Instead of grouping the weeks together, I am going to use the week to week threads as a tool in helping with the draft order. I will be able to see who has done summaries and who hasn't each week.

You don't have to post a huge summary. In fact, a small 1-2 sentence and or a picture will do just fine.

35 yard FG by D. Clarke is good to give Spartans double overtime win

Mich State come back stuns Notre Dame; Spartans win 38-35 (2 OT)

    Week 3 -

After winning their first two games by a field goal, Michigan State does it again for the 3rd week running as the get past Notre Dame in double overtime. This game was an aerial assault by both teams as they combined for 98 pass attempts and 716 passing yards, as Ashton Bernard continues to show that he has a knack for late game heroics. Down 28-14 after Notre Dame scored with 4:13 left, Bernard led his team to a quick scoring drive, ending with a 1 yard run by McKeon on 3rd and goal with 2:42 left, and after the Spartans defense was able to stop Notre Dame on their ensuing drive, Bernard took to the field with a little over a minute left and no timeouts. This didn't rattle the junior, who must have learned to be poised under pressure after two years on the bench, as he drove the team down the field and found Mr. Reliable, WR Marcus High from 8 yards out with 5 seconds left in the game to tie the game up and send it to overtime after the successful PAT.

In OT the Spartans would get the ball first and score on a 25 yard pass from Marvin Garrett (Who stepped in for this one play as Bernard was taking a breather) to Marcus High.

Notre Dame responded with a touchdown of their own as Jason Sanders caught a HB screen from 8 yards out and took it in for the score, 35-35 after 1 OT.

In the 2nd OT Notre Dame would start with the ball but the Spartans defense would come up with a play when they needed it most, as the corner Banks would step in front of a Sanders pass on 3rd and 3 and come up with the huge interception.

That would lead to the Spartans running the ball 3 straight times on their possession before entrusting Clarke with the 35 yard field goal for the win, which he buried to give the Spartans yet another come from behind victory and push them to 3-0 to start this season.

WR Marcus High was so good this game (14 catches, 180 yards, 2 TDs) that any ball thrown in his direction would just stick to him, as illustrated above.

MICHIGAN OFFENSE TOO MUCH FOR 'NEERS

How Many 'Neers Does It Take To Bring Down Freshman TE Evans?

Michigan put an exclamation mark on it's #1 ranking with a 42-14 pasting of #9 West Virginia in Morgantown. The Wolverine offense rolled throughout the game with 480 yards of offense and converted 10-12 3rd downs. QB Thompson was 14-19 with 3 TD's. Freshman TE Evans had his best day yet with 5 catches for 119 yards and 2 TD's while WR's Roberts and Morris combined for 8 catches, 162 yards and 2 TD's. Russ Terrell saw limited action but did break a 59 yard TD run to start the onslaught.

Michigan gets a bye next week (wait 20 days to play football and then get a damn bye) before taking on the Penn State Nittany Lions week 5.

    Oregon Runs Over Washington State

True Freshman QB Scruggs continue to flash moments of brilliance...coupled with head-scratching plays. Against an opportunistic Wazzu defense, Scruggs threw three TD's in 3 quarters of play and ran for 60 more yards. However, he also threw 2 INT's (one came as he was being hit, the other because I pressed the wrong button...the time off is throwing off my reflex muscles lol) and had a costly fumble.

However, a stout Oregon defense prevented Wazzu from scoring an offensive TD and held them to two more FG's. Scruggs ended up getting his ribs broken in the third quarter and will be out for two weeks. Senior WR Jenkins caught 3 TD's and put on an absolute clinic. After a demoralizing loss in their season opener, the Ducks are now 2-1 and look to move on from their disastrous start.

Quarterback Vernon Triplett has his coming out party in a 56-28 thumping of Texas A&M in College Station. The junior Trojan quarterback throws for 301, runs for 55 and accounts for five Southern Cal touchdowns. USC is 2-0.

    PURDUE WINS

    41-31

Jon Hill threw for over 400 yards in a huge win for the Boilers. Justin Griffith and Preston Douglas both had 6 receptions for 147 yards and two TD's apiece. Mike Palmer had 5 stops TFL and a sack. Both teams turned it over twice. Boilers needed this win to righten the 0-2 start in front of a handful of promising prospects.

Southern Cal rallies, wins thriller over Cardinal

USC ralled from a 30-10 third quarter deficit to pull out a 31-30 win over Stanford. Trojan quarterback Vernon Triplett struggled early (two interceptions and one fumble) before being pulled for senior Noah Davis. Davis played very well to get the comeback victory.
