Penn State Tops Pitt20-10 The running game for PSU was a success early and gave Penn State an early edge that they would never relinquish. HB Bill Belton showed off his speed as he rushed for a total of 112 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries. QB Kirby did not have the kind of day he would've hoped for in the air, as he tossed 2 INTs to no TDs in this affair. The PSU Defense played well, forcing 4 turnovers, 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery which would seal the game for Penn State.
VOLS TOP BUFFALO, 28-6 Ho Hum affair before SEC play begins Tennessee was the visitor for a spirited Buffalo squad that played well for 3 1/2 qtrs. The Vols put up 21 points in a 4 minute span in the 2nd qtr though the 1st TD would have been enough. Marlin Lane was again a workhorse gaining 137 yards on 23 carries yet is still searching for his 1st TD of the season. Sr QB Justin Worley bounced back from a dismal performance against Pitt to throw for 3 TD's to 3 different targets. Backup RB Devrin Young (pictured above) flashed some open field moves with 211 return yards including a 97 yard kickoff return. Defensively, the Vols were again led by Sr MLB Curt (2legit) Maggitt with 6 stops and a sack. In total, the Vols had 7 sacks to go along with 2 turnovers. Vandy is up next for #15 Volunteers.
We're getting there.
