Romo Throws 6 INT Against Revis and Co.

    1.JPG

This was a game that Tony Romo will never forget. He ended the day throwing 6 interceptions against what looks like the best defensive backfield so far this season. The Patriots were slow out of the gate as they were in week 1, with their first scoring coming off a pick 6 by rookie CB Demps. It was all Brady from there, who ended the day with 5 TD and hitting over 8 different targets during the game. The Patriots went up 21-0 and seemed to go on cruise control as the Cowboys answered with 14 quick points coming off a Patriots fumble on a kickoff.

The second half was all Brady and the Patriots defense, who have 8 interceptions in 2 games. When asked about this Coach Z said "This off season the secondary was our primary concern as this league more than ever is very much a passing league. We had one of the top rushing defenses last year, so our focus was to stop the pass and ultimately stop the points". The Patriots drafted 2 rookie CB in this years draft and signed CB Ron Bartell and signed Husain Abdullah who had to interceptions last game only a few days before the game.

So far, Brady has yet to find a favorite target as he is still getting used to all of his offensive weapons. The 5th pick of this years draft Calvin White seems to progressing steadily as he has 151 yards in 2 games and 2 td, and TE Gronkowski also has 2 TD so far this season. Look for Gronkowski to be more active after Brady gets the offense running like he wants, and the timing of his offense down. This team is now 2-0 will take on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lions Upend NFC Champs in Superdome, 41-24
The Lions set the tone of a tough match-up against the Saints this afternoon with 2 early connections with Calvin Johnson who scored 2 long touchdowns and gave the Lions an early 14-7 lead while the saints managed to sustain long drives that ended in touchdowns on their first two possessions.
The key of this match-up maybe have been Jahvid Best, who added rushing yards and and kept Drew Brees off the field in what coach Westcott expected in a wild shoot-out "We knew we needed to play mistake free football and keep the clock in our favor."
Finally the Lions got the brake they needed when Amari Spievey picked off a Brees pass that gave Detroit an edge going into halftime with a rookie touchdown reception by Akeem Ballard, and a 24-14 lead.
The Lions came out determined to keep the lead and just limit the Saints big play abilities. "The best defense against these guys is to not play defense at all." coach Westcott said after the game. The Lions were finally were able to get the saints to go three and out a couple of times and with Best and Leshoure able to keep the chains moving helped clinch a victory.
"This is a big win for us and we needed it going into a key game against Green Bay next week" Westcott said "I doubt the Saints are going to go away either so we may play these guys again later this season and it will not be easy next time either."

Buffalo defeats Jacksonville for their first win of the season.

This is a day Ian Jones will never forget in his football career. Coach Rehman goes ahead and gives Jones the start over Fitzpatrick due to his consistent play in practice. The Bills dominated this game on both sides of the field. Defense intercepted the ball 6 times tying a team record high but also forcing 5 sacks. Players that stood out were Mario Williams with 4 sacks, 1st Round pick rookie CB Khambrel Smiley with 3 int and 1td, also rookie QB Ian Jones finishing the game with a 122.9 rat and 3 tds, and last but not least fan favorite Aaron Hernández finishing the game with over 100 yds and a td. The Bills go on to win the game 45-3.
