    Week 2: Texans (42) Browns (20)

The Texans came out looking for a better result and effort then was shown in week 1. The game however did not start off well as the Browns after a 74 yard run but Thomas Jones took a quick 7-0 lead. The Texans would begin a decent march to answer but when WR Brandon Gibson dropped a 3rd down pass and then Kris Brown shanked a 49yd FG things looked too familiar down 7 without the ball. The Browns would go on a nice drive mixing tough runs with short quick passes and get into Texan territory. The first key play in the game would follow as LB Xavier Adidbi would pick off a pass and stop the Cleveland drive. The Texans quickly went to work on a drive that ended with Schaub finding Felix Jones for a 44 yard TD tying the game at 7.

The Houston D would bend but not break on the next drive forcing a punt. Schaub came out very accurate hitting and mixing in runs as well ending in a Ray Rice 2 yd plunge on 3rd down to give Houston their first lead of the season really 14-7. The Browns would drive again this time the Texan D bent a little more but only allowed a 39 yd FG making it 14-10 under 2 minutes left in the half. Schaub went right back to work in the middle of hitting 10 passes in a row that led to a Andre Johnson TD from 39 yds away as it looked like the SS took manual control at the last second and Dre got behind him. 21-10 under a minute left in the half. The Browns hung tough trying to get into at least FG range to end the half but an interception at the goal line but Dunta Robinson ended the drive. However he picked it at the 2 and his momentum seemed to carry him into the endzone resulting in a safety 21-12 Houston at the half.

The Texans came out on a nice drive to start the 2nd half running tough and mixing in some high percentage passes the result was 1yd TD run by Felix Jones 28-12 Texans lead late in the 3rd. The Browns would answer going with some no huddle as QB Morrow would find WR Williamson for a 21 yd TD and a T Jones 2pt conversion made it quickly 28-20 Houston.

Schaub and the Texans looked a little rattled coming back out with a run for a loss and a pass batted down. However the 2nd real key play took place on 3rd and long with momentum really leaning toward Cleveland Schaub found newly signed Sinorice Moss deep of the middle for a 30+ yard gain and a huge 1st down that really took the air out of the Browns run for sure. The drive continued resulting in a J Tamme 16 yd reception for a TD making the score now 35-20 about half way through the 4th. The Texan D finally stood tall and forced a punt. The Texans really just ran some clock on the next series and it resulted in another Ray Rice TD run of 8 yds making it 42-20 just over 2 minutes left in the game. Houston would hold one more time and the game was over and the Texans get their first win of the season. GG BOM86 those 2 turnovers really hurt your chances in this one. Sorry about the end I was a little lazy to find QB kneel down and ran 2 FB dives for a yard when running the clock out was the better call.

Schaub was the player of the game 18-21 for 391 and 3 TD's
Rookie Taurice Brown was big on D with 8 tackles
Cleveland had a nice game from Thomas Jones and has a nice TE in Jackson.
Good luck the rest of the way, next up a real test for Houston in the Falcons...
