Week #3 Throwback Games of the Century, of the Weak

Tis Throwback Week BOYS!!! as you will notice these teams were not chosen strickly by intriguing matchups alone
The teams involved in these games also seem to have a "throwback" in their Rivalry. its like a Friggin PMFL HOliday!!

    Colts Vs. Broncos
    [IMG][IMG]
These Teams go back. Wayyy back to the AFL days, probably to some of you old geezers childhoods ;) .

The Denver Broncos lead by fisker has go to have some people shaking in their boots. ill be a man and say im one of em. Who would have thought that their defense would be so dominant and only allowing 9 points in 1 game and a shutout in another. even more stunning is that they are averaging 47.5 points a game. and their not passing... thats right, as of right now they have 2 of the top five runners in the league, knowshon moreno and Aaron Brown. Since they are posting soo many points and allowing so few, without opening up the playbook, many are viewing them as the only real team to beat this season.

The Indianapolis colts just might be that team that will be able to knock of said broncos. newcomer soxandgators finally has given the colts a running game that its long needed to become a real threat to win championships. who would have thought they would have 338 yards on the ground after week 2? No one thats who. Also when you have an elite QB in Peyton, no one can sit on the run, OR the pass.Oh yea, i almost forgot. Whos the only team scoring more than the Broncos? Thats right, the colts, at 50.5 per game. Defense might be the issue with this team. they have not been tested by an offensive minded owner yet, and still allowed 21 to the texans, and allowed 14 to the giants. The redskins held the texans to fewer points in week 2, and allowed only 1 point fewer to the giants than the panthers. they have some serious holes to fill if they want to be considered the best in the AFC.

    Browns Vs. Ravens
    [IMG][IMG]
Ahh. good team, bad team. good rivalry with bad blood

The ravens have honestly been a dissapointment so far. at 0-2, they have gone from a super bowl contender to fighting for their life very early just to win their division. a loss to the browns this week could be devastating. Joe Flacco with all the weapons he has, has either gotten too confident or just doesnt see the coverage and blitzes anymore. in 2 games he has thrown for 8 picks and been sacked 7 times... And with the trade of leron mcclain, they are having trouble relying on their power run to offset this. you cant rule them out however, as this team has one of the most talented rosters in the league. on paper...

We go from the shock of the ravens, to well, the expected 0-2 start for the browns. at least we can say they are doing the best they can with a rookie QB, and only a few stars on their team. they are very, very young however, and that bodes well for these brownies as they learn to gel and play together. after that? this team has some key players that will lay the foundation for a successful franchise. I wish i could say more about this team, but come on man. its cleveland, theres nothing to talk about, now that lebron left.......(oh wait thats basketball)

    Packers VS Bears
    [IMG][IMG]
NFC North boasts having one of the most heated rivalrys in the NFL

Man this converence seems kinda screwy doesnt it? lions 2-0, farve led vikings are 1-1, bears are 0-1 at the time of writing this, and the packers? 0-2. This is yet another team who started top ten in the power rankings, yet here they sit 0-2 about to face the bears who are also 0-2 Jermicheal Finley is the bright spot on this team so far, as rodgers is struggling early. Dmass tends to start slow though, and i have a feeling the pack will be right back in the thick of things when they start to click as an offense again. The defense seems to have hit the sophmore slump in dom capers 3-4 Defense, last year they were +24 in TO ratio. this year they only have 1 takeaway in 2 games. watch for these guys to catch fire soon, because this team has too much talent to be at the bottom.

The bears(at the time of writing this) are 0-1. their defense doesnt seem to be what it once was after giving up 50 to the lions in a tough shootout loss. the offense on the otherhand is on fire under Martz's regieme. week 3 might be another shootout though with the bears offense clicking, and the packers D struggling and if the bears D doesnt show up again like it did against the lions, the packers offense might finally get going. i expect great things from both teams however, as i beleive both of these classy owners are just going through a learning curve with the new game, and once they are "learned", watch out

    49ers Vs. Chiefs
    [IMG][IMG]

The 49ers are looking strong this season. they are 1-1 after a tight loss to "THE MATT", and a solid win over the saints. As you might expect with alex smith at the helm, they are doing it with a solid running game, an electric TE, and a scary Defense. This team exemplifies "The best offense is a good defense". lets take a peak at the numbers shall we? 5 interceptions (3 INT returned for TD), 3 forced and recovered fumbles(100%) with 1 returned for a TD. Thats 4 Defensive touchdowns for you mathmatically dislexic. and a mike singletary coached team would have it no other way. Watch out cuz the rainbow bay warriors are back

Im honestly confused by these chiefs. week 1 they lose 13-45 to the chargers. week two they beat the browns 43-21. this team can be very explosive at times, and can be a complete dud other times. They have made some very bold moves personel-wise so far, and from what i can see, it might have paid off. they have a dangerous 2 headed running attack. a very young secondary loaded with studs, and a rookie TE who i personally watched tear up the big ten last year in Tony moeaki. Tony is second in the league in Rec yards, tied for most rec TD, and has the most catches of anyone in the league.. as a rookie.. this Chiefs team might seem like a sluff game to many players, but take a day off when you play them and they might just send you home with a big fat Loss.
