Titans Upset Saints in Dramatic Style 34-14.
Newly aquired FA Marion Barber(#80) was a star in practice this week and results followed in his first game as a Titan.
The 1-0 New Orleans Saints hosted the 1-0 Tennessee Titans in week 2 of the OMFL regular season. Both teams came in hot after big wins to open the season and looked to keep the hot start going. Titans added key depth just days proir to this game with key FA signees HB Marion Baber and LG Justin Smiley. The Saints praticed all week to try and keep the turnovers down and Brees felt confindant in a big win in the superdome.

The game opened with the titans getting the first possesion and couldnt do much with it. Both teams stuggled to get much going in the first and in the closing seconds of the first quarter, the saints with Brees and Bush looked good and were driving. Score at the end of the first. 0-0

Saints offense kept feeding the ball to the Bush/Greene Combo and it paid off early in the second quarter with Bush rushing from 5 yards out for the first TD of the game. The titans got the ball and continued to feed the ball to Barber on the inside and tosses and draws to CJ. CJ couldnt break anything big but the titans kept the ball moving and wore out the Saints D. Marion Barber scored his first TD as a Titans late in the second quarter from 1 yards out to tie the game back up at 7. The saints got pocession of the ball with only 50 seconds left in the half but pressed anyways for the lead. After a couple great passes by Brees, a tipped pass landed right in backup FS Johnsons hands and he returned it 72 yards for the go ahead TD to end the half 14-7.

Saints and Titans traded possessions to start the third quarter and finally the titans started to pick up steam on the ground. A tired Saints D was losing thir grip in the trenches with constant pounding by barber and streachs by CJ. Barber scored his second TD of the day from 6 yards out with 2 mins left in the quarter to make the score 21-7. Saints looked to get rolling on the next possession with a couple of nice passes capped off by a QB to QB TD in a pass from bress to brown to make the score 21-14 to end the third quarter.

The fourth quater was all titans with their greatly improved Defense picking off Brown and Brees 3 times in the quarter and pushed the score up to 34-14 with 2 FGs by Bironas and another defensive TD by CB Newman.

The Titans will host what appears to big the biggest game of the OMFL season so far as the Jacksonville Jags come to Nashville. Coach dunlap embarrassed the titans twice last season and VY, CJ and crew looking to give Dunlap his first loss of 11. The Saints wont have long to recover from todays bad loss due to the tough falcons coming to town next week.
