The 49ers came into this contest looking to prove that they could win on the road as well as at home, and the proved up to the task. The Bengals started out this game by taking the opening kickoff and driving down the field on this very good Niners D. The Bengals finished off their strong drive by throwing a TD pass from Gradkowski to Scaife from 4 yards out to make the score 7-0. But after that, they wouldn't even sniff the 49ers side of the field. The 49ers took their next possession deep into Cincy territory, but it would end with Kaepernick's first INT of the season to former 49er Nate Clements. The 1st quarter ended with the Niners down 7-0. in the 2nd quarter, the Niners would get a TD run by Frank Gore from 7 yards out, and a 42 yard TD pass from Kaepernick to Morgan with only 13 seconds left in the half. So the halftime score was 49ers 14, Bengals 7.
There was no scoring in the 3rd quarter, the Niners got close, but again kaepernick was picked off in Cincy territory. And in the 4th quarter, it was all Frank Gore. He ran in 2 TD's in the 4th from 1 and 5 yards out to give the 49ers the final score of 28-7, moving them to 3-0 on the season. In other news, rookie OLB Aldon Smith recorded another sack in this game. he has now sacked the QB at least once in all 3 games thsi season, bringing his season total to 5 now.
