Well... My defense actually played really well despite the score. I kicked a field goal for a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. They would tie it with two minutes left in the half. Then with 1 minute left in the first half, I attempted to take the lead. They blitzed, my QB got crushed, fumbled and the Razorbacks scooped and scored. Now with only 42 seconds left, I hastily tried to go down to tie it, but threw a pick. My defense held them to a field goal and it was 13-3 at half.

The 2nd half wasn't much to talk about. I would throw 4 more interceptions which led to several more scores including a pick-six with only 2 minutes to go.... I expected to lose this game but after starting off strong, I gained hope which didn't turn out well.

We got off to an early lead thanks to an INT from SDSU on the first play of the game, which set up a running TD for QB Matt Faulkner. After another INT in the first quarter from SDSU, the Spartans drove downfield and scored at the end of the first to take a 14-0 lead. The game was never in doubt until the 4th quarter. With a 28-7 lead, our defense gave up a few big pass plays and a touchdown to the Aztecs. But we looked to be taking another 3 score lead when SDSU forced a fumble inside their 10 yard line and returned it 91 yards for a score to cut the lead to 28-21. But the Aztecs couldn't stop our running game in the final few minutes, and we forced them to use their timeouts before getting another first down to end the game.

Those cheesing bastards. I demand Dylan throw the results out as they clearly didn't adhere to the 70 point limit.

After falling behind 28-3 to Arkansas State, I had to scratch and claw my way back. We traded blows in a high scoring affair and I scored the final 27 of the game to come back and take the lead late in the 4th to beat the Injuns. More details coming later.

    Aggie D Stifles Red Raiders

LUBBOCK, TX-- The New Mexico State Aggies turned some heads this weekend after traveling to Texas Tech and coming out with a 31-13 win over the heavily favored Red Raiders. The defense played exceptional and really gave the Red Raiders fits. NMSU struck first after both teams had stalled drives with a strike thrown from QB Matt Christian squeezed into a tight window to WR Austin Franklin. NMSU added a FG early in the second quarter but Tech rallied quickly marching down field to answer with a TD and let the Tech heavy home crowd know they were here to play. NMSU answered with a long drive finished by HB Kenny Turner with :34 left in the half. Tech quickly drove downfield using their timeouts and were near the 20 yd line with 9 seconds left. Running the hurry up Tech QB Doege forced a throw that was picked Aggie CB Jonte Green who took it 80 yards to the house with no time left in the half to give the Aggies a huge momentum boost going into the half with a 24-7 lead.

To only make things worse for Tech, their first play from scrimmage in the second half Doege again forced a throw Green's way, who made the QB pay yet again taking this one back 32 yards as you could see the stadium deflate. The Aggie D forced 4 INT's which proved to be the difference in the game. With a 31-7 lead here the Aggies were able to go ultra conservative and run the game out while allowing Tech to score one more TD.

The game ball here clearly goes to Aggie DB Jonte Green who had 2 INT and 2 TD.

The Aggies look to rest up in week 3 and ride their wave of momentum into their conference opener with coach Crumb and his FIU squad in week 4.

    Other notable Aggie stats include:

    QB Matt Christian 12-19 178 1TD 1INT
    HB Kenny Turner 22 99 1TD

Blue Raiders Hang With Tennessee; Lose late 30-16.

Underdog MTSU could not have asked for a better start to the game. On the opening kick-off, the a Blue Raiders specialist ripped the ball out of the hands of the Tennessee returner's hands and the ball skipped backwords where Khari Burke picked it up and scooted into the end zone for a touchdown. In just 9 seconds of play, the Blue Raiders had matched the point total of the Memphis Tigers' game in the same stadium just one week ago. ( Full Moon Fever (y)) MTSU held their ground and went into the first quarter with the 7-0 lead. Tennessee finally got on the board with a touchdown from Fresno area native Tyler Bray connected on a 27 yard touchdown pass. Mid Tenn State finally got the offense going, and put together a drive that ended the half with a 34 yard field goal. Despite just 90 yards of offense, the Blue Raiders held a 10-7 lead at the break.

With 5 minutes to go in the 3rd Tennessee got a lucky that would drastically change the game. On 3rd and 14, Bray threw a desperation pass that sailed over the WR, but the MTSU corner went for the INT... the ball bounced off the defenders helmet, right into the hands of Volunteer WR Rogers' hands who took the ball 68 yards to the house to give Tennessee their first lead of the game; 14-10. The MTSU offense struggled to put a drive together and Tennessee got field goals on each of their next drive to take a 17-10 lead into the 4th. The two teams traded field goals on 4 possessions in the 4th quarter, but with Tennessee leading 23-16, they put the final nail in the coffin on a 3 yard touchdown run to seal the game. HB D.D. Kyles led MTSU with 74 yards on 19 carries. Next week the Blue Raiders open up conference play at UNLV, who is coming off a bye week after an impressive 66-10 loss to BYU. :doodie:

Well, we're waiting on Irish vs FCS and Snoopy vs UK. I haven't heard anything from either besides Snoopy's "what."

I'm thinking an advance is in order.

And it looks like Irish-N did obliterate FCS SE already. So Snoopaloop's the only one that we're waiting on I guess.
