    Week 3: 49ers 31 Rams 14

The Niners were able to go into St. Louis and steal a victory.

The 1st quarter was somewhat of a defensive battle, as a QB Davis connection with WR Morgan was the only score.

Early in the 2nd, newly acquired RB Donald Brown ran it in for a TD, putting the Niners up 14-0. The Rams quickly responded with number two WR Donnie Avery returning a KO 107yds for the score. Niners then responded with a 65yd TD run by RB Brown right up the gut. Near the end of the half, RB Steven Jackson was able to take a screen pass about 5yds for the TD. The Niners were able to drive down the field but were stuffed three straight times from the 2yd line, including 4th down. Halftime score 21-14 Niners.

The second half story was the Niners D, as they were able to shutdown St. Louis. Sacks by rookies LB Watts and DT Lopez, as well as an INT by LB Willis helped put the game away. Rookie FB Erik Pollard sealed it with a 3yd TD.
