Week 3: Chiefs 42, 49ers 24 Kansas City, MO - The Chiefs brought home some excitement to their hungry fans in a solid week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The defense showed its teeth early in stopping the 49ers for a field goal on their first drive, shutting down a crucial 4th down attempt late in the 3rd quarter, and shutting out the 49ers in the 2nd half of the game. The Chiefs showed some strength in their running game early and late, starting off the opening drive with a touchdown, and running through the worn down 'Niners defense for a few touchdowns in the 2nd half. The return game once again shone as Dexter McCluster returned a kickoff 103 yards for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter to bring the Chiefs back into the game. Javier Arenas also reeled off a couple nice punt returns. Even the two minute offense had its chance in the sun, with Matt Cassell leading the Chiefs on a touchdown drive with only 1:56 left in the 1st half.
