WR Danario Alexander Takes The Rock In For The Score

("The Zou" Faurot Field, Columbia, MO.)

With over 70,000 raging college football fans packed into The Zou, #4 USC lost a heartbreaker to #7 Missouri 28-27. The loss shocked USC fans who saw their team jump out to an early 14-7 lead that quickly built up to a 24-14halftime lead.

But it was the 3rd quarter that began to choke the life out of the USC offense and frustrated the defense and gave Mizzou the momentum they needed to pull off the upset win. The Tigers came out of the locker room and began to play a more physical game and it showed as they controlled most of the 3rd quarter and changed the momentum of the game.

"What a ballgame!" said Coach PK. "We talked all week about weathering the storm and giving ourselves an chance to win and we did that. We made some adjustments on both sides of the ball and even overcame a couple turnovers, so I'm real proud of our team."

Terps upset #8 Texas Tech at home. The opening quarter would see Graham Harrell hooking up with Michael Crabtree on a 8 yard TD pass to give the red raiders the early 7-0 lead. On the Terps next drive, they would end up giving the ball to DaRel Scott four straight times on the goaline before he could finally reach the endzone. The teams would exchange two more rushing TDs before half to make the score 14-14 at halftime.
After a long opening drive to begin the 3rd quarter by the Red Raiders, Antwine Perez would pick off Graham Harrell around the Terps 30 yard line. The Terps offense would waste no time as QB Chris Turner would hook up with Darrius Heyward-Bey on a 66 yard bomb to give Maryland the 21-14 lead. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Graham Harrell was intercepted again by CB A. Wiseman who would return the ball 84 yards to put the Terps up 28-14. The 4th quarter would see the Red Raiders cut into Maryland's lead as Graham Harrell would again hook up with Michael Crabtree for a 93 yard TD. Maryland felt the game slipping away from them as Texas Tech would have the ball down in the redzone with only seconds remaining, but CB Kevin Barnes would pick off a pass intended for Michael Crabtree and take it back 92 yards to put the Terps up 35-21 with only 10 seconds remaining. Overall both teams played one hell of a game. This game would have had one wild finish if it went to OT.
